Let's take the guy who made that painting of the killing of Saint Simon of Trent, for example. I don't think anyone ever got all giddy about AI being able to create works like that and the fact that the artist would thereby be made obsolete. I remember a lot of joy and humor about low-talent leftist "artists" like political webcomic authors and furry commissions illustrators losing their work. The post author alluded to this briefly as if to preempt the a response that would contradict the main premise of his argument. Objectively and honestly, I don't recall ever seeing anons on /pol/ happy about talented, valuable, fine artists losing their craft to AI. I would also argue my own opinion that AI isn't capable of producing anything that can rival the work of a high level artist in a legitimately artistically valuable discipline, at least for now. I'm also not trying to spread a false narrative in any way here so I'm interested to see counterexamples that suggest I got it wrong.
