Ossoff is probably the most interesting 2028 Democrat candidate. His debate performance leaves me in no doubt he would kick the shit out of Vance. If styles make fights, Vance will always be weak to a guy like Ossoff.

However, because the Senate structurally favors the Republican party, it might be better to keep a strong incumbent in a purple state like GA to keep Senate control, although this becomes less important if they get 52 seats after midterms.

How he'd do in primaries against Harris and to a lesser extent Newsom is an open question. Especially with how SC primaries favor the black candidate. However, Ossoff is from the next state over so he's not as weak here as everyone not named Harris. He's basically Beshear or Shapiro with actual charisma.

He really does have charisma and is a great speaker, Obama tier. I don't think it's possible for a jew to be anti-zionist but that's what he claims to be. real interesting dynamics going on with this guy. If he can beat Kamala and Newscum in the primaries he'll probably be our next president. People are tired of being led by retarded sounding miggers.

I just think Newsom is a weaker campaigner than polls would lead us to believe. And nationally speaking, a CA governor is not only the devil to vast swathes of America but there's a lot to legitimately criticize Newsom specifically about from the left - namely CA's housing crisis.

The Senate chessboard gets interesting if Talarico wins. He won't be up for reelection until 2032, which frees up someone like Ossoff for a presidential bid. Ossoff might want to finish his term, however.

agreed. Kamala and Newsom are weak candidates. If the democrats would commit to running a (((white))) man without baggage they'd dominate for the next decade. In a way, Biden fucking them over and forcing them to run Kamala proved America isn't ready for a boss bitch.

Harris's advantage is that she has the recognition and people are probably going to remember 2023 and 24 as the good times before Trump fucked everything up and look more fondly on Biden's veep than they did in 24. I think she's underestimated. And again, there's the whole SC primary thing.

I agree with you, despite having met him and personally disliking him greatly, and being a republican, Ossoff is clearly the best candidate Democrats have nationwide, with cross-isle support in the state. He has said he won’t be running in 28, but I would be shocked if he doesn’t run in the 30s. The only part I disagree with you is the primaries, and probably part of why he isn’t running, democrats don’t do open primaries and it’s very clear they’re looking at Kamala running again as their main option. Best option is for Ossoff to side step what’s going to be another very messy and stupid election cycle to save his run for when he has more tenure.

>23-24 as the good times
Yeah, no. Things were so bad during that time people decided to go with Trump again, and as bad as they are now it’s still better than where it was back then. The fact that they’re even letting her publicly say she’s thinking about running shows the DNC leadership is totally out of touch and set to lose the next presidential election almost no matter what. Kamala being anywhere near the ticket is going to energize republicans and really deflate the moderate democrats who are already having to deal with the rise of the DSA. Kamala and Newsome are both insta-lose, incredibly toxic picks that will tank anyone else running for any other office that election cycle. Would genuinely be a horrible idea to let them through.

I disagree, there's a lot of polling suggesting that people think the economy was better under Biden. If you don't think 28 is going to be as uphill for any R as 2008, I think you're a partisan hack.

Polling is garbage, get out on the street and talk to people. Everyone remembers 2020-24 as some of the absolute worst years they’ve been through, and lingering on the politicians that made it that way is a sure fire way to fuck up for democrats. The party civil war going on right now is going to be more problems for them if more progressives get in, because that scares away moderate democrats. I would bet money on republicans winning the White House again in 28 simply because democrats have refused to change from all of the unpopular behavior and politics that lost them 24. Republicans are clearly ready to move past Trump, democrats will be running on Trump for a decade after he dies. Even in this election, their promise if they win the house is *more* pointless hearings and investigations and impeachments, meaning they’re dead set on disruptive do-nothing politics than actually addressing any issues. They lost all the competent old democrats and Jeffries is an embarrassment who can’t even throw barbs right. They’ll come across as ineffectual and in the way and that’s going to be their image for a long time. Democrats desperately need to change course away from hyper progressivism and rabid anti-Trump shit if they want to have a real future. If not DSA will take over and they will lose funding and support.

he is the only "new" guy with any speaking ability whatsoever in politics
