My new observation doesn't sit in a vacuum; I think it's closely tied to Calhoun's mouse utopia experiments. The important thing to recognize is boomers do not understand they are doing this. They do not understand they are in a self-worship cult.Actually, I will give a couple bonus observation since it enhances the main observation. I was playing a moba and people were bossing me around on my team. So I told them, I don't play this game for you, I play this game for my mother and father. And when I went camping recently, we were next to a boomer couple. They were blasting music and a lot of it was from the 70s and 80s. And I said damn don't these people get sick of listening to the same fucking music for the last 60 years?

Now back to the main observation. Boomers are breeding a new species of man, I would call this Boomerkind. If you see a millennial that succeed to procreate, he is more likely than not has been selected as a member of Boomerkind and his children will be selected for Boomerkind traits.Anyway, I grew up pretty poor. My dad was an alcoholic. My mom was some form of BPD demon. That made growing up really rough between the two of them, but they stayed together and were consistently hard workers and sacrificed for me and my sibling to get to a better place in society despite all the self sabotage they were inflicting on themselves and me.When my sibling and I became adults, we had succeeded in surpassing our parents accomplishments and on track to live more stable and successful lives than they had. But this was just some years after the dot com collapse, 9/11, and right at the start of the 2008 recession. The only things people were thinking about was money, war, and degeneracy.So I started a career, and 25 years of eating shit later I've gotten no where in any significant way. Meanwhile my boomer parents seemed to actually have a financial break through in the same time span. After a couple bequeathments around the same time I became an adult, they only have ever moved up in society since then, despite getting by with humble means and humble occupations in society. They have a "rocket scientist" 40 yo man son who has been working for 25 years and can tell his meager value is still a joke compared to his parents. They have what I feel like is a mansion compared to my house. They have a vacation house. They have more expensive cars than I have. They fund family vacations for all of us still, for the most part. Don't get me wrong, they care and are generous.

And that's when it hit me recently, the observation you've been waiting to read. Maybe the last 25 years hasn't been me trying to make my parents proud? That's what I thought I was doing. But now I'm a 40 yo bachelor. Nothing to be proud of. And yet they are proud of me still. And they don't see what we've all lost. I told my mom, after every thing that women have done to me, every thing bosses have done to me, that I just want to run away and hide in the forest. What did she say to me? "Noooo, come to MY forest".So maybe the last 25 years has been my parents trying to make me proud of them instead? Because they fucked up so hard in the start? And they either could admit that and take a back seat for my brother and sibling to flourish, or they could try to cover it up and dominate and boost their success so hard it outshines any ugly shadows.So is that what is going on? Are boomers trying to make us proud? Is that what they think they are doing? Don't they see how juvenile, inverted and incestuous that is?

Just to finish a side idea about fresh members of Boomerkind. If you see a millenial or a Gen Xer and he's playing Allman brothers, but then he puts on a edgy pantera track, and then he plays some johnny blue grass music. And then he gets in his 100k SUV.
