They were exiled over and over and over again for this sophistry, they would claim to be gods favourite, lie for profit, change what the old testament actually said for their own profit, and people would cast them out. Historically speaking, they have virtually no ties to the holy land, they were staunchly rejected by everyone that lived there. Their homeland is Iraq, its where the Rabbis penned their ridiculous stories about having giant penises, telling god to go fuck himself, and having super powers.
