99% of television, social media, forums and other communication platforms are censored because "think of the children". You can't post about violence, you cant show anything about the harshness of reality. The consequence of this is that people won't be properly informed, they'll underestimate the dangers, and they'll develop a naive, overly rosy view of reality. This shapes day-to-day politics and how we respond to everyday dangers. This is why nations don't stand up against societal problems and invading armies, because they think it will not affect their lives.Western societies are infantilized, cucked, kidult societies.

I think the accusation of young adults being "infantilized kidults" is more of a deflection of responsibility for the policies which have resulted in a deterioration of their socioeconomic prospects onto the individual for not "growing up" than it is some kind of en masse conscious choice to become funko pop manchildren. Once you see problems like this manifesting at scale it becomes insensible to reduce it to individual poor decision making, but addressing it at scale requires holding the powerful accountable for producing the situation in the first place so naturally they love to just harp on about bootstraps
