And inflation is actually low if you exclude gas from CPI as that's due to supply restrictions and it hasn't affected other prices. The other thing is the fed doesn't actually control interest. The rate they raised recently is what they pay banks (in printed money) to park the previous printed money the fed gave them back at the fed. It's a floor on interest rates but lowering that rate doesn't magically cause the market to stop demanding what it's demanding on other loans. The high market rates aren't in response to current inflation which is low. They are expecting more money printing in the future, like medium to long term.

This was my cope. Wanted Trump to crash the economy so I could buy a home. Until I realized that that made no sense. I also hoped he would create a 2020 style crash so I could put 40 grand in savings into the market and in a few years have enough to buy a house. That didn't happen either. Meanwhile if I'd put into Nvidia when it started going up, I'd have a house now. Wouldn't be able to afford the property tax but hey that's another matter.
