I'm not even sure if you could realistically eke out a living entirely off grid these days. Even here in Aus where it's fucking easy mode, don't have to stress about winter, easy as hell to keep myself fed etc, but i'm still not at the stage where I don't need to work at all.*If* you wanted to do it you'd probably do what a lot of blokes here do, work FIFO jobs in mines and then have an off grid place like an hour or so out of a town.You drive into town every two weeks, fly off to work, then back into the bush for two weeks, repeat until you've got enough of a nest egg to hobomax.
