I LOVE living in car centric suburbia! I love how grey and hideous it is. I love having to drive 20 minutes to get groceries. Old bungalows set back from the street, giant mature trees shading the sidewalks, gardens and flowerbeds just overgrown enough to look lived in but not trashy, all old couples and young families. Really nice place. Then the fucking hipsters moved in and started gentrifying the area, now previously $70k lots are going for over a half a mil and everything that made the location desirable has been driven out and cut down. Goddamn shame, it is.

Most folks have lived here for about 20 years, including me. We all know each other, and have fun block parties twice a year. There is no crime. It's very cozy and nice. I have 5K sq. ft. with a 50'x20' pool and 800 sq. ft. cabana. 4-car garage, back to a canyon with nice view. It's very rewarding to fix random stuff as needed, and have a great place to hang out. Very calm and peaceful. It takes me 25 minutes to drive to a World-Class Symphony, which I enjoy doing about once a month. I wish everyone could have these things, but most cannot. oh well, who cares.
