Would you support the return of the monarchy? It was unironically more meritocratic than the modern banking oligarchy we live in. If you performed well in a public charge you could even rise to minor nobility in a single generation.

And how modern nobility would even look like?
>>
>>544715972
The problem with monarchy is when your nation gets prosperous, you grow a larger middleclass that start enviously eyeing the aristocracy. The bourgeois are much more venal and motivated by short-term gain. Case in point: Thomas Cromwell - the guy who became Henry VIII's bagman in the English reformation. The bourgeois puritans did more to destroy the cultural patrimony of England than the Normans.
>>
If all it means is that politicians and their staff will praise some dumbass for his ancestry then I don't really care.
If it means they'll start obeying this dumbass' orders then I'd probably have some strong objections.
>>
>>544715972
Monarchy isn't something that you vote into being. The monarch has to be a Caesar who seizes power and creates rules of succession
>>
You want your current head of state to keep his job for life?

Not true. Plenty of kings have been elected.

Itso facto Washington could have been king, but he decided against it because he was infertile and had no biological children, succession war would have destroyed his project on nation.

you clearly don't know how anything works if you don't understand that old money and old blood still run things. the problem is we didn't go far enough removing monarchy and now the remnants of these monarchies still influence things to their advantage at the expense of everyone else
>>
>>544715972
>It was unironically more meritocratic
There could literally never be anything LESS meritocratic than inheriting a government position from your father. Are you high?

>And how modern nobility would even look like?
We still have it. It just doesn't come with titles. They enjoy the benefits of pretending to be normal citizens when that's useful.

Realize: The problems of our current system that you are pointing to are literally CAUSED by us continuing to have a nobility.
And hey! We even have nobility among corporations! Its called "too big to fail".

"democracy" doesn't actually exist, it's just a theater designed to keep the plebs from revolting. When a president implements policies that target the wellbeing of the population and wrecks the country a civil war can be adverted by holding new elections, but you aren't implementing a regime change you're just swapping out a dirty shirt for a clean one.

Elections are basically an artificial pressure release valve to dodge bloody civil wars. In a monarchy, if a ruler runs things into the ground, people will depose him in a violent civil war.

But in a "democracy" the banking elites will just hands you a brand new "leader" with a pristine reputation that will be used as the visible face of the real rulers. At least until he spends his term implementing policies detrimental to the working class. Policies that were ordered by the baking deep state.

But it's alright because once his reputation is totally trashed, you toss him aside and put on a fresh shirt (elect a new president) and avoid the civil war, so he's essentially a disposable "burner leader" a hand picked decoy controlled by the real puppet masters behind the scenes.

A "democracy" it's the perfect dictatorship ever invented.
Behind every "democratic" nation is a regional banking deep state that only lets pre approved candidates onto the ballot, it doesn't even matter who candidate wins, they will take the same choices than the other candidate would have because they are not the ones actually taking the choices at all.

All they do is locking voters into a fake left vs right dichotomy, making sure nobody ever gets a real, full spectrum vision of actual governance and the same baking rulers perpetuate themselves over generations.
>>
>>544715972
no thanks. direct democracy and we don't even need a single president.

>>544716718
"elective monarchy" actually quite many of them in history
>>

>There could literally never be anything LESS meritocratic than inheriting a government position from your father.

Only the most capable heir was elected by the nobles to actually run the country in a federal level, and the common man could become a minor noble if he did things right.

but in a democracy ¿how many presidents come from the same family? none come from the middle class, you have the Bush, the Kennedys and their branch families.
>>
>>544719349
what nobles?
>>
>>544719430
The aristocracy. House of Lords, other noble families, the rich and powerful. Name one example of a royal line being voted in by commoners.
>>544719352
To be fair I think Bush Sr. was legit. He was a fighter pilot at like 18 and rose through competence and craftiness. It was a little different then.
>>
>>544716454
Tie nobility to something the bourgeoisie don't like to do, namely military or similar. Let the middle class be as rich as they want but without direct political power. Limiting the power of money vs the monarchy is a challenge but the Chinese are pretty good at dealing with it.
>>
>>544719430
I'd be more open to having nobles if Jews did not exist. Not open, but more open. First things first

There's so many solid options.

Won't necessarily be a monarchy.
The Kingdom of Denmark was into the whole women's rights thing.

I like the monarchy in theory, but in practice I am against it. The kind of man that would be a good king no longer exist. A king was the grand patriarch of a nation, back when the word nation represented a people. He put his nation first before everything. The reason the monarchy fell was because the king forgot the social contract his power was founded on and allowed the material temptation of the industrial revolution sway him. A good king would have to be nationalistic even if it meant his nation may lose out on material wealth. I cannot see a man taking charge with those views so I cannot support a modern monarchy.
>>

I belong to a noble family. I'm a few generations removed from an Earl. There's quite a senior Duke, but that's via marriage. Also there's a 20th century European leader.

You're not going to believe me when I say this, but you chaps would love it if we returned to a ruling monarchy. It's simply better and more efficient. Plus, it's possible to hang communists by their ankles - which I'm sure you'll agree, sounds like a lot of fun.

if amerifucks werent wilfully ignorant retards, we could have a conversation about how only a deist could try to make a Deuteronomy style republic by declaring documents written by men to be in charge, as if the form of having a document was more important than that document being the word of God. if the constitution had declared that the Bible is the word of God and every word in the constitution is to be interpreted as the Bible says, there would be no troons

>>
>>544715972

>>
>>544723150
It's not that any one monarchy is necessarily better than any one democracy. Rather, it is that putting power in the hands of an individual rather than a collective is the only way structural change can actually happen. When power is diffuse, elites can never be unseated from their position because no one source has the capacity to threaten them. Only when power is concentrated are elites able to be held accountable. Of course, unseating elites may be good or bad depending on the circumstance.

Anyone who knows classical history should be well familiar with this phenomenon. The most famous but hardly only example is Julius Caesar. There's a reason the plebs supported an emperor and the elites supported republicanism. Both were acting in their legitimate self-interest. The idea that democracy can benefit the lower classes is laughably transparent propaganda.

All power systems are hereditary, and in fact it is impossible to build a society that doesn't create and reinforce hereditary power systems.

Still, the natural reach of a government is much less than what it is. America doesn't need a king, it needs 100 kings. There has never been an emperor or king or high priest with one half the power of tyranny possessed by any modern government.
>>
>>544723655
the Bible sets up a republic in Deuteronomy, but with rules for what the king has to do (the king must personally copy the Bible and read it). the Bible says that nations that forget God get destroyed, it doesnt tell nations to have a monarchial or republican state

This is both cause and effect. The lie the sovereignty comes from "the people" has given modern rulers the justification to create a government vastly more intrusive than any monarch ever dreamed of. The most outrageous overreach and evil imaginable is thus handwaved and excused.
>>
>>544715972
Yeah and I also believe that the economic advancement of the modern world came about in spite of democracy and not because of it and that if monarchy had remained that it would be the superior system today. If the US never entered world war 1 monarchy could be around in europe today, soviet russia would have never happened, no weimar, no hitler, the world could be so much better but who knows what other stuff the jews would have done. The US entering world war 1 is what ended the world though, woodrow wilson was a peak jewpet basedboy and did it for democracy even.

>I also believe that the economic advancement of the modern world came about in spite of democracy
It's very evident in the modern world as well: all else equal, monarchies have higher living standards than republics.
Look at the mideast. Yemen and Iraq are both absolute shitholes, some of the most hellish places on Earth. Meanwhile Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are all comfortable places to live.
Ditto for SE Asia. Thailand is solidly middle income and way better off than its third world civil-war wracked neighbors.
>>
>>544724504
Kings own, politicians rent, would you rather be owned or be a rental? No government is ideal, but monarchy is better than democracy.

In some traditions you would de facto lose the title of nobility if your firstborn son wouldn't become a full time military officer and didn't upkeep a standing army.

People confuse monarchy with aristocracy. One king ruling over everyone is dictatorship. Royal, princely and aristocratic families ruling over a nation is monarchy. There is a king but it's way more of a complex system than "lol 1 ruler". Wealth of a noble was tied to prosperity and good management of the land. Military, priesthood and government were all in the hands of the aristocrats.

Europe became an undisputed global superpower under aristocracy. And now during a post-aristocratic era it's flooded with browns, sold bit by bit and being invaded physically, culturally and technologically. Europe's leadership was beheaded and now we see the dire consequences.

But then again people don't understand what aristocracy was. It's never taught in public schools. People think aristocracy is some cunt that got into a position of power and holds it via shady deals, and then his son inherits the position. Which is temporary oligarchy.
