I think that using robots for riot control will work out extremely poorly no matter how high the quality of said robots. In fact, the better programmed they are, the less effective they're likely to be.This is, in my opinion, because the human element of riot police is an inherently de-escalating factor in riot control. Rioters are less willing to just straight up murder their fellow man. They'll throw rocks and literal shit, but the molotovs are saved for buildings and not cops.People are unlikely to have such compunctions against outright destroying riot control robots. You'd probably see a lot more people bringing firearms and explosives to riots.I believe that combat capable bots are best used in actual lethal combat or for entertainment, not riot control, security, or peacekeeping.
