Because why then did they not choose, say, the UK or France for the slopification of Western society? Why was the American societal framework in particular such a perfect vessel for doing this?Think about it like this. 100 years ago, both the left and right and anyone inbetween actually sounded *somewhat intelligent*. A smaller number of people in sheer quantity were nominally literate, but those who *were* literate used said literacy far more frequently. Whatever you might think of Marxism/socialism, pre-1950 you actually had to be an educated somewhat dignified European to comprehend and discuss it. The topics of discussion between academics were things that actually matter;industrialization, raw physical economics, class and nationalism, philosophical texts etc etc. Everything revolved around some capacity for *depth*.Nowadays politicians do not discuss how to build a bridge or a railway, culture war poisoning and globohomo therapy-speak slop and pointless abstractions have seeped into Europe as well. Modern focuses of discussion would make any serious intellectual from 80 years ago have an aneurysm at their sheer uselessness.My basic take is America was basically the perfect vessel for spreading pointless culture war bullcrap and making everyone in the West slowly become a vapid, shallow, materialistic, validation-obsessed bumbler with high-time preference and low-impulse control.I'll continue in the comments because this is getting long.Discuss.

One obvious consequence of democracy is to dramatically lower the quality of discourse in order to appeal to the broadest possible base. Democratic politicians justify their campaign based on their opinions on a myriad of random topics. So for example, there are political figures alive today who were elected and hold office due to their position on gay sex. That, of course, *incentivizes them* to talk about gay sex all the time. The legitimacy of their hold on power is literally reliant on discourse about gay sex.This isn't a problem in, say, a monarchy or other nondemocratic government. A traditional king may have a personal opinion about gay sex or any other stupid topic. But he is not *structurally incentivized* to talk about and agitate for it all the time, because his sovereignty is based on force, not ideology. This should make it exceedingly obvious why shallow and frivolous culture war topics constantly emanate from the US. I's because the US has the deepest democratic tradition.
