No, inflation stats are just artificially lowered by people accepting a lower quality of life and buying cheaper goods, altering the basket of goods used to calculate inflation.

For an accurate metric of inflation just measure changes in the money supply, which is the underlying mechanic behind inflation (currency debasement).

I haven't left my house in a while; today I bought a gallon of milk and it was like $4.29 which shocked me; I'm used to it being more like $3.50. The niggers at the store also had fliers out saying chimkin breast was $2/lb but it rang up as fucking $4.40/lb and their excuse was
>"Oh, the chicken on sale isn't THIS brand, but some other brand entirely... No we don't have any of that other brand in stock, at all, and the sales flier does say "frozen chicken breast" with no brand specified and the frozen chicken breast you paid for didn't have a pricetag listed ANYWHERE on it or in the store, but yeah, $4.40/lb is the correct price, actually."

It's accurate though. In around 2010 that 58 dollar bill would have been about 30 dollars and that was after the 2008 crash and bailouts. 2002 we were still running on a strong 90s economy and dollar.

but it isn't about you, personally, it's about the guy who just graduated from high school, or the guy who just got out of prison, or the guy who just lost everything.

You were the one throwing out the "capitalist" bullshit earlier. It's always the same shit here.
>>
>>544776554
capital is property you own that makes money for you without your labor. Capitalists doesn't mean anyone who lives in a capitalist country, it means people who make money for nothing. If I owned a stump-puller, one of those big gas engine ones, and people paid me to come rip out their stumps, I'm a laborer. If I own a stump-puller and people pay me to borrow it, pull their own stumps, return it, and I make money without working, that's being a capitalist.

How are those eggs still at rape level? I'm in southern CA and I can get a decent carton of eggs for $6

its a really obvious fake a number of reasons.
>you bought coffee, not any particular type just regular ol' generic COFFEE 24 years apart
>they never changed the number on it in 24 years, never cycled out what
kind of coffee they sell
>same goes for bread
Almost every item in walmart would have a reason one way or another to get a new number at minimum once every 5 years. Unless somehow some way the generic bread and coffee they sell never changed size or distributers in 24 years. And even then they probably would have changed it a few times for fun.
Also receipt formatting has certainly changed more than that, and the store manager's name would be listed on the receipt.

why didn't the american shopper give tip for this purchase?

My economic barometer since the 90s has been Tootsie Rolls. Back in the '90s one Tootsie Roll cost 1¢. Whether it was chocolate or fruit flavored. Penny candies in gas stations and convenience stores were ubiquitous. This is no longer a reality. Nowadays, a single Tootsie Roll will cost you 10¢ or more. If you can even find a shop that sells penny candies.
When I peruse the candy aisle of a gas/convenience store now, the cheapest candies I can find are at least $2 or more.
The devaluation of the US Dollar is intentional bullshit.
When my mom was a kid, grandpa would send her to the shops with $10 and she was able to buy a carton of cigarettes as well as enough sweets for her and her 6 siblings.

This picrel implies an average 5.7% inflation compounded over 24 years
It proves what we all felt, but only had "anecdotal evidence" for: namely, that inflation has always been much, much higher than the "experts" are telling us.

Only a dumb basement NEET whose mommy buys all the groceries would fall for this.

I remember 2002 quite well.

Milk price looks about right. I remember $2.49. Milk is subsidized anyways. It's not the market price. A gallon of milk was 2 dollars flat in 1986. I remember buying it then too. Milk is actually cheap as fuck nowadays. Never been cheaper in my life.

Eggs were almost always 99 cents for a dozen. Often sales were 79 cents, sometimes 89, every now and then 69 cents a dozen at Walmart. VERY occasionally you'd see 59 cents a dozen.

Bread was the same. The fluffy white crap bread that most of America uses was 99 cents a loaf, sometimes cheaper with prices matching what the eggs would be. The "real bread" that wasn't made with white flour was a heavy little brick, somewhat smaller length, that went for $3.99 to $4.69 a loaf. That real bread would mold in three days, so eat it up.

I don't know what that chicken breast is. What size is it? Who knows.

Bananas? I waited for sales. Often, 29 cents a pound.

I don't really drink coffee and never buy to make at home.

Prices were actually cheaper than this.
