Yea this, Im sick of retards outside of the place thinking that its being held against its will like England has it in a chokehold. If it was possible they would leave Britain AND Ireland and just have Ulster be its own thing.

Its not as simple as "give Ireland back" because Ulster was only one of 4 parts of Ireland, just because the rest of Ireland merged into one doesnt mean Ulster wanted to, or even has to. The Irish have been enemies with other Irish even before America had a name, they dont want to be ran out of Dublin who historically was their oppressor. The rest of Ireland confederated and Ulster said no, and since its not economically viable to strike out on its own it chose to remain with Britain, simple so it can maintain rule over its own region seperate from Ireland, with the economic backbone of Britain.

Itll have to happen one day, there is too much support for a united Ireland globally, and all its going to do is turn the north into a ghetto as it is no longer build around a capital city, all resources will be siphoned to Dublin, just like the rest of Ireland that are now complaining about this but cant exactly split off anymore.

what was the troop strength in the region at the time of the vote?
i'm told that is what determines the legitimacy of such votes, or am i mistaken?
