why did the Impossible burger fail?
>>
>>544779671
Why do faggots who supposedly not like meat have to have their fake slop look, taste, and smell like meat?
>>
>>544779671
>vegans don't like meat
>normal people want meat
They lacked a target audience and mistook people trying it for popularity. You see the same thing in Hollywood when a movie gets shitty reviews but a lot of ticket sales. When they try to make sequels, they flop because people already tried sitting through that dog shit the first time.

>>
>>544779671
Vegan food is shit
>>
>>544779671
it didn't, they were just testing, they will keep redoing it until a majority are fine with it then flood the market and squeeze the beef market even more until grilling onions burgers on the 4th is normal
>>
>>544779774
The same reason lesbians buy dildos.
They pretend they don't want it, so they buy an inferior version of it to keep the pretend machine going.

i tried one. it tasted fine.

They missed an opportunity to undercut the meat market.
If their burgers were half the price of beef burgers, people would start experimenting with them in recipes. They would have had organic growth.
But the boomer shareholders were only interested in short term profits
>>
>>544779671
>it’s a healthy alternative to meat!
>it’s actually much less healthy than just eating meat
>>
It’s often more expensive for some reason.
I could always find a box of frozen burgers/tendies for cheaper.
All they had to do was make it cheaper than the real thing for me to reconsider trying it.
Bill listen. It’s too damn much.

too expensive. the idea was it was supposed to be healthier and cheaper but it wasn't much healthier and more expensive

>>544779774
I like meat but don't eat much because I don't like animals having to die for food, and a lot of red meat isn't healthy. fake burger was a good option on paper but the economics were ass

>>544779927
impossible and beyond were pretty good actually

>>544779990
unlikely. the entire plant-based meat sector catered. there might be a rebirth in the future as trump continues to decimate entire generations of ranchers, but the industry isnt in a good space rn
>>
>>544780279
>They missed an opportunity to undercut the meat market.
they didn't have the ability. production cost more than leaving cows in a field to eat grass. they couldn't get the enterprise to scale
>boomer shareholders
they're not public

>>544780470
>>it’s actually much less healthy than just eating meat
yeah they had to load so much garbage into it to make it taste good
>>
>>544779671
Tastes like bland mealy shit. Also when it was first released, it was priced more expensive than actual meat in some locations due to supply issues. That left one of the absolute worst consumer impacts that a product launch could make and it never recovered.

Will never forget my first trip to the grocery store during the Covid panic. Every refrigerated food section was completely bare-shelved, except the vegan options. Even people hoarding food for the end times wouldn't eat that shit.

It was impossibly shitty.

I tried a sample at Costco. Knew I would never buy any, but was curious how far this stuff had come. It didn't taste like meat, though I think the texture was okay. I don't know what to describe that flavour as, but it was horrible and I had to spit it out. So the market is vanishingly small. People who hate meat but also don't mind eating something that tastes horrible so they can larp at eating meat.
>>
>>544779671
Animal suffering is what makes meat taste good. Animals who eat well while living in misery have the most delicious meat. Animals who live healthy lives of freedom without pain have tough, leathery, barely edible meat.

Basedbeans can't suffer, therefore this "meat" tastes like shit.
>>
>>544781311
Nonsense. Humans taste awful these days.
I've never heard about basedbeans though.
Checked.

This is why I have never had one. If you want me to eat fake meat, you better be offering it cheaper. I refuse to pay more for a substitute. If it were cheaper and tastier, I might never eat meat again but you retards had to make it more expensive than the cheapest beef.
>>
>>544779774
They don’t eat meat because they don’t like it, the only reason they don’t eat meat is to gain clout within their woke circles. Vegans love to announce they are vegans and how great a human they are for not eating meat.

Because once they found out about onions hemoglobin and that it's cancerous and that the impossible burgers are even more processed than a twinkie (and more unhealthy too) they dropped it like a hot potato.

Do I really have to spell it out for you? We don't eat meat due to ethical reasons, not because we don't like the taste.

I guess I'll make this a little more clear to you. A normal average 100 IQ person who just happens to be a vegetarian will eat a green bell pepper without giving a second thought to how it could be made up using food coloring and collagens to look like a beef patty. No normal functioning human would ever have that thought cross their mind.

People who eat beyond meat type products are literal body/identity dysmorphia trannies with mental illnesses
>>
>>544783580
>>544779671
This, it is actually cheaper to produce, but they made it much more expensive than normal meat
>>
>>544779671
It's not meat and doesn't taste like meat.
>>
>>544779671
Too expensive.
If it was cheap, it would sell out.

>>544780279
>>544782137
I've had it before at work.
For all the things you'd use ground beef for like dirty rice, hamburger helper type shit or even tacos and chilli. It's fine, it's even good.
It's not going to replace an actual hamburger but for lower class sustenance food. Fantastic if it was half or a third of the price.

Completely dropped the ball on their potential market.
>>
>>544779671
>why did the Impossible burger fail?

Wait, I actually know why.
It's mostly these ones: >>544779827 >>544780470 >>544780626 >>544783580

It was more *expensive than beef and it was also significantly less healthier for you than just an actual beef burger due to the fact that it was an ultra-processed food item. So, despite widespread publicity, it was functionally impossible to market to anyone: ACTUAL honest-to-God vegans & vegetarians don't fucking eat meat (they eat mushrooms, lentils, and seitan), and no meat eater was ever going to "convert" to an infinitely shittier & more expensive product.. That was bad for you.

*Which doesn't make any fucking sense because both the Impossible and the Beyond Meat burgers are made from shit like peas, beets, plant waste, and potato starch. It'd cost like a fraction of a cent to make hundreds of pounds of the stuff once you figured out sourcing, scaling, etc.. They had all that publicity, got all these contracts for fast food, and then lower prices never materialized despite everything.
>>
>>544779671
The market is people who don't eat meat for ethical reasons but want to eat stuff that tastes like meat. I don't think it failed in that regard and I still see it sold in many places.
>>
>>544783368
No, you don't have a personality or any value to this world. You think by being a faggot tranny or whatever will give you value/personality. It doesn't, everyone around you wish that you would kill yourself.
>>
>>544779671
Because it’s just processed bullshit. You can make actually good food from vegetables or tofu or whatever but this shit is just a cringy effort to grab your money with shit you don’t need.
