Of course that doesn't stop other unattached males trying their luck.We have ducks land in our garden every year in summer because we feed them; the males are always chasing the females. Funnily enough the ducks almost always show up at the same times of day (because i typically feed them when I go to and get back from work) so the females and her males have actually learned to come at a different time and fly into the side garden.
