Once it gets to 250-260 some of the older storage caverns risk collapsing in on themselves, which is why were only supposed to draw down that far if theres a war going on. A monthish ago the WH announced the release of 40m barrels, which would bring us below that limit. Thats why its incredibly strange that after authorizing several million barrels at every release theyre now only auth.ing 400k.
