TOR's reputation takes another hit. Is it a honeypot if a small European country can deanonymize its users? He used tails on USB, so no evidence was found, however he was located by the government in less than 2 days, and they raided his house before they even got a search warrant. He used Tor and the domain was registered anonymously. How?

"Members of the UKP (Criminal Police Directorate) launched an operation this morning to arrest RAF (School of Computing) student Andrej Premović from Raška, under the suspicion that he created the 'ocisti.net' platform, which exposed more than 32,000 SNS (ruling party) bot accounts on the X network, while a search of his family home is currently underway.

Andrej was, by the way, the student of the generation, a gold medal winner at the first Cyber Security Olympiad in Singapore, and the recipient of many other awards.

Picrel is him on the left after being released from questioning which lasted 6 hours, right is him at the international Olympiad in Singapore, where he won the gold medal in cyber security

There's a backdoor in every phone OS; but not in Windows apparently.

It's at the hardware level silly

If even olympiad cyber security experts are getting caught by government what cances do incels have ?

Remote viewers, time logs, backdoors in hardware, unique hardware footprints, purchases of the domain name, schizophrenic math that easily deanonymizes every "anon", take your pick. Anonymity died years ago. I don't care if he's a world reigning cybersecurity "God". He's getting caught because of the dystopian, AI-controlled, total surveillance system that's already deployed. And it's only going to get worse. Wait until the AI Black Swan event that the Globalists are "warning" us about.

Do you think the police need TOR to tell them that the guy who won the Cyber Security Olympiad is probably their guy?
>>
>>544830867
Most likely Anthropic. Everybody's using Claude to search for vulnerabilities. The CIA and NSA have been actively looking since before AI. Everything has zero-day vulnerabilities. The world's entire infrastructure is a fucking joke.

Did he use his own computer, with an unmasked MAC address? A MAC address that has previously been associated with other things he’s done on the clearnet? Purely speculation of course. Even if the IP pinged back to a hotel or whatever, it wouldn’t take that long to put two and two together, assuming geofence cellular data is available, or video/known expected attendees.

they rather have you do your thing and observe than have you know theyre lookong and find ways to do it without them knowing, 'let them, let them be naive'

Next time use Starlink, your IP will never appear on VPN.

Anonimity existed up until august when Trump administration put Italian antifa hacker collective Autistici/Inventati on the terrorist orgs list and they had to stop operating. They were so good that it was really hard even for interpol to access their servers.
Obviously nobody on /pol/ ever mentioned this because this place is now just shills or chatgpt addicted boomers/zoomers

They can, and always have been able to, tell you are using Tor. No one has ever claimed otherwise. They can't tell WHAT you are doing on Tor. They can't look at an onion site server and trace the users back through Tor.

What they can do, and have on several occasions, is notice you're the only person using Tor in your area. Or your the only one that has been on Tor every single time a certain political dissident website talking about very niche topics was updated.

The FBI caught a kid doing bomb threats that way one time. They didn't break Tor, they just checked who was using Tor when the threats came in.
>>
>>544829156
TOR was created by the U.S. Navy and VIA for field agents and undercover spies to communicate back to their handlers.
Most governments have found technical solutions to this long ago. Aside from timing attacks and confirmation attacks, you can do good old fashioned police work and process of elimination after identifying all TOR users in a small shithole like Serbia which is probably like 10 people, 9 of whom are 58 year old pedos who don't know much about computers.
Actually at a security conference in Riga this month there was a whole talk about browser finger printing and TOR and how to identify people.
>>
>>544832832
It was invented by the NSA, not the USN. And they didn't build a bunch of backdoor bullshit into it, anyone claiming that has no fucking clue how Tor actually works.

The US government has a backdoor into Windows and every other Microsoft product. When Outlook was down worldwide right before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it was because the US government was using their backdoors to patch vulnerabilities that might be exploited by the Russians.

It doesn't need back doors at all. Because it functions at low latency you can easily trace the traffic across all encrypted hops if you have the ability to observe a large portion of the internet. But most countries don't have that. So Serbia probably reached out to the FSB.
>>
>>544837988
>>544837926
It's actually 9000 daily users + you have no idea whether or not he used bridges. Process of elimination for a large group of thousands is a lot harder than what you just wrote, but his background certainly made it easier. My post is written as a half joke, mostly because there's no way to avoid not standing out, your traffic can always be carefully analyzed by ML and even if they can't see where it's headed, they can conclude it differs from normal traffic. The same way you can tell what OS someone is using, even if that traffic is going through a VPN.

There is NO reliable way to hide the fact you're using Tor from your ISP, and this is not my belief but the belief of people behind Tor.

>>544838407
This is why SIGINT exists, because there is ALWAYS a signal. And some of the smartest and most autistic people on Earth have been kept in comfortable employment for decades with nothing to do but figure this stuff out.

If you want to get away with something you can't be lazy. You need physical anonymity. Be away from your home and use someone else's network. This is hard. Almost nobody does it. Hence you see people lose their freedom and millions of dollars because they wanted to commit crimes from their bedroom.

exposing bots is a crime?
>>
>>544838407
You can still see someone connecting to it, they just can’t prove that it was you specifically. This only really works in the US where they can’t get proof of a crime but in shithole countries they can still kidnap you and beat the shit out of you until you confess.
>>
>>544838986
