Do you want a real black pill?
Watch 1 hour of TV from 20 years ago, ads included.

I watched this British film made in 2000 just this morning. I was just a teenager back then but the difference in tone between today's films is remarkable

I remember when nigger music in a commercial was unheard of. Now it's nigger music in every commercial.

This is good but 2000s TV has the special bonus of most people here being alive at the time.
I can't explain, it's not that it was super good, there were good and bad things, nowadays it's only bad, for me what is the most striking is both how everything was so light and unpretentious,
But at the same time, you can now see the cracks starting to show in a way you just couldn't without hindsight or being very well informed back in the day, the things no one would even remember, or just see as a joke now are very clearly propaganda to your eyes.

I hated television 20 years ago, now the modern stuff gives me bloodlust

tv in 2006 was extremely degenerate and already proves that the media has been in decline for a long time, but I get why you would be nostalgic for it considering we are comparing it to whatever is on tv now. We would have to go back to the mid 70s LATEST if we want to experience a time when tv and mainstream media was worthwhile and had any sort of merit.

70s shows were woke as fuck. All in the Family was jewish as fuck and very subversive.

For what it's worth, the world back then was mired deeper in lack of knowledge than today. There was no counter back then. Just the Matrix in all it's evil might.

Dont need to I havent regularly watched tv in 20 years but when I do its always a mindwarp. Ten years ago it was the incessant commericals for prescription drugs for boomers. Now its the incessant commericals for fucking GAMBLING shit. Ten years from now it will probably be incessant commercials for suicide booths or to purchase waivers to get out of being drafted for WW3 or sent to work camps.

Watch a movie from the 1960s to early 1970s while paying, close attention to the level of the vocabulary as well as the general civility. I took my kids to see the original planet of the apes that was playing at an art theater and I was dumbstruck by how advanced the vocabulary was compared to today. Movies were heavily centered around the plot and dialogue whereas today it's all about computer effects and simplistic dialogue and plot. Movies were written with the assumption of an educated and intelligent audience. I recently went to see the 1967 movie In Cold Blood. I deeply thought about the profound concepts that were in that movie for days. I add a similar reaction after watching Taxi Driver. I cannot recall watching a recently created movie that challenged me intellectually.

it was a very different show for the time which should be held as the exception. Most 70s programming was conservative and very family oriented. Of course there are outliers but it was still alright for the most part. I feel by focusing too much on outlier shows like All in the family, we ignore much of the great shows which were made back then.

That's a helpful observation and all, but you still don't have the big picture.

Here's the big picture...
