While it doesn't have the refinement of titles such as the Red Orchestra series, the sheer amount of action being rendered at once (granted you have a powerful PC for maximum NPC count) is absolutely staggering. You can modify the difficulty to your liking, making it as realistic as possible or just turning it into the equivalent of a CoD campaign.

If the game doesn't have it, a mod probably does.The game even has a dynamically generated Conquest mode, where you can play a roguelite-esque world map, basically forever.And the absolute best thing about this series? You can take direct control of an individual soldier or tank, and play the game in third of first person, with ALL features above retaining complete functionality. So if you get angry that a unit can't see something that YOU can see from bird's eye view, you can possess him yourself and literally put yourself in his shoes.

Grim Dawn, a game with Diablo 2's spirit, and with Path of Exile's grindathon, playable completely offline.An ARPG with so much content and so much build variety, you can play and replay for hundreds of hours until all you see are different colors proccing out of one another, until you get killed by the boss for not paying attention, basically highway hypnosis: the game. It does start much slower than games like itself in the genre, though.That being said, however, there are a fuckton of stuff you can miss if you don't pay attention to exploration and your choices during quests, which can definitely come back to bite you in the ass later.

Door Kickers 1 & 2, basically SWAT 4 if it was an isometric RTT.Plot your glowies' actions, bit by bit, then let them breach & clear the map, the game allows you to pause and rethink your strategy if anything goes south; and a RPG being shot directly into your soldier's face might just be one of these situations. While the game does not have the hit chance of games like XCOM, different enemies might have different armor values, and something like a pistol might take more bullets to drop people than a rifle or a shotgun.

If GAMMA/Anomaly added just "some guns" from Tarkov, it wouldn't be an issue. The issue, however, is turning the STALKER experience from exploration into this extremely methodical task-seeking debauchery, and this all arguably started with Misery, a mod with so much item bloat masquerading as difficulty it genuinely harmed the modding scene for fucking years, Anomaly, GAMMA, Dead Air, etc, caused an influx of retarded people to come rushing into discussions regarding the game despite having never played it at all. I am not opposed to turning STALKER into a survival experience, but GAMMA does not do it well, and STALKER is not a survival game. You cannot convince me that mods like that not only did not add to STALKER's supernatural element, it actively retracted from it.It simply did not do anything impressive, that wasn't already done by other modders who actually understood what the games were truly about, such as the Forgotten Zone modpack I listed in my post, which is using Anomaly as a base, but removes the bad influences which Anomaly bought with it.That actually brings me to my next recommendation...
SPTarkov. Essentially a complete retooling of Tarkov as a game, turning it into a tolerable experience if all you want is an extraction shooter game with a fuckton of weapons and a hideout to build. playable completely offline after the initial install, and it even has co-op support. A little difficult to pirate, but it's possible.There are mods which add AI players and some that buff the pre-existing NPC AI to act like players. One of these was so good that the modder was hired to work on another extraction shooter game. There are even mods that remove or skip infamous and unwanted quests from the game, mods to skip the grind, mods that add features that the 'real' game likes, etc. You can turn the game into your own sandbox, to turn what you want.

You can do so much in this, take a side with one of the powers, settle your own planets, trade, fight, explore, whatever.Underrail.Best tactical RPG I've ever played.
