If Americans can no longer afford to eat out, why won't they simply switch to home cooking like their ancestors did?
>>
Because they have urban sprawl and thus have to drive 3 hours to work and 3 hours back leaving only 1 to 2 hours before they have to sleep. In some European city maybe you could have the time to shop for fresh produce and then cook but in America, all you have is goyslop.

Because of the scraps I mean.
Is this a party or what?

just seems like he is a poor university student or someone who doesn't know how to make food cause all you are getting from this slop is skinny fat build and future health problems. Cheeseburgers at mcdonalds are more healthy than this.

what do you mean haven't heard? He is a retard, what is there to hear. Just because he switched from buckwheat to soup and now to this trash, doesn't make a difference.

There is olive oil, garlic, paprica and cheese in this meal. Milk in coffee. It's a great meal.
>>
Compfy thread. :)

I can't eat much now a days, my appetite is shit. But I still enjoy the food photos.

I eat hommade Everything except sushi, total from scratch, in absolute. I eat once a day now, but sometimes I can't much. Probably saving money, but I don't notice.

It's difficult if you work full-time. You have to spend your weekend meal prepping.
>home cooking like their ancestors did?
home cooking is more of a modern invention. Stoves used to cost a fortune and workers often paid others to cook for them.
>>
>>544849781
I've made it a principle to only eat out a few times a year, and only at high-quality restaurants. I recently had omakase at a nice sushi joint with a friend and it was fucking incredible. The rest of the time? I'll just cook at home. It's more affordable and I actually enjoy cooking.

Only go out to eat for the company, the experience, or because it's something that's a pain in the dick to make by yourself. For example: I'm getting ramen next Friday. I'm not bothering to make authentic stuff at home. Shin Ramyun doesn't count.
>>
>>544850323
No, went on a diet! Back pain, now I can't eat.
Lost 28+kg since mid June.
Full of energy at work though, so I guess it's OK.

I'd enjoy the meal you posted when hungry.

What? I put my food in a thermos with boiling water and eat it once it cooks or boil it for a couple of minutes before consumtion if external temperature is too low for thermos cooking. You can also use an instapot electric pressure cooker. Your food cooks yourself while you do something else.

Our infrastructure is entirely different from our ancestors. For example they used to cook on the same fire they'd use to heat their homes. There would always be at least one person home who could do small bits of cooking at a time or check on things like stews throughout the day. They'd have messy areas they could use for processing things and weren't as concerned about hygiene. They'd exchange and share ingredients and skills with their neighbours and had an entire culture passed down from parent to child as to how food was made. Just copy pasting something from the past and expecting it to work now isn't going to work. You might as well transplant a westerner into the middle of the desert and say, the Arabs live here, so why can't you?

This is the way.
I've started making soup.
I buy chicken stock, onions, celary and carrots, salt and garlic. I cook a bunch of chicken early in the week and the leftovers get diced up and added to my soup which makes about 3 meals.

It's quite affordable and healthy. It doesn't require much effort to produce. If I wanted to I could probably cook up a double batch and it would cover my breakfasts for a whole week. I also throw a bit of rice in when I reheat it.

You guys don't have women there?
>>
>>544850860
Women used to stay at home, cook and clean and raise children.
But with modern "progress" they go to university and work and whore out.
>>
>>544850865
With meat inside it will spoil faster. Vegetable soup can last an entire week out of fridge when boiled daily. You add yoghurt and eggs to the bowl directly before consumption and not to the main pot. Potatoes are always nice to add.

>women
Oi mate, have you seen Bri'ish women? One would rather fuck a teapot

I have homemade beef soup in the fridge all the time. Giant pot, with carrots, parsnip, chared onion and basic spices, salt, peppercorn, bay leaves and vegeta.

The jelaton is thick af, so much phat off the bones and some beef. Every day I have few scoops, sometimes I add udon noodles, sometimes I even add Miso stuffs and have it with my meal.

Yesterday I had a six egg omlet, this soup bowl and seven pickles. I ate like a pig after close to 30H or so.

Soups are a Must.

Cooking is an art. You learn as you go, and then you get good.

Which one looks better? Left is coconut milk. Right is yogurt. They're both very spicy. And it's a whole pot, so I eat it all week. I make other things too.
>>
>>544850655

No, and neither do Americans, but that's the joke. Anon said you just need a pot and a fire but he's glossing over the most important ingredient when it comes to home cooking. Someone to actually do the cooking, and this has never been the primary breadwinner in the family.
