Let's all look back in the past and thank Henry Ford for creating the 2 day weekend. Everyone thought he was crazy for doing it but soon the rest of the western world copied him.

Henry didnt just believe in working hard, he also believed in freedom.

Overview of Dodge v. Ford Motor Co.

Dodge v. Ford Motor Co. is a landmark case in corporate law decided by the Michigan Supreme Court in 1919. The case involved the Dodge brothers, John and Horace, who were minority shareholders in the Ford Motor Company. They sued Henry Ford, the majority shareholder, to compel the payment of dividends that Ford had decided to withhold in favor of reinvesting profits into expanding the company.
Key Facts

Parties Involved: John F. Dodge and Horace E. Dodge vs. Ford Motor Company and Henry Ford.
Court Decision: The court ruled that Ford must prioritize shareholder profits over other interests, affirming the principle of shareholder primacy.
Dividend Dispute: Ford had slashed dividends to reinvest in the company, which the Dodge brothers argued was detrimental to their interests as shareholders.

Court's Ruling

The Michigan Supreme Court held that:

Ford's decision to withhold dividends was arbitrary and not justified by the company's needs.
The court emphasized that a corporation is primarily organized for the profit of its shareholders, and directors must act in their interests.

Implications

This case is often cited as a foundational example of shareholder primacy in corporate governance. It established that corporate directors have a duty to maximize profits for shareholders, although it also recognized that directors have discretion in business decisions as long as they are rationally linked to benefiting the corporation.

Paid his workers well enough they would be able to afford his cars. Donated heavily to charities. Gave his workers an 8 hour shifts with weekends off. If it wasn't for the Dodge kikes setting precedent, businesses would be focused more on increasing overall value to its consumers and workers alike instead of being completely beholden to shareholders.
Henry Ford was potentially the greatest American to exist in the last 100 years.

Given how much individual productivity has increased over the last 100 years we should all be on 3 or even 4 day weekends by now if it weren't for constant mass immigration giving them an infinite supply of cheap wagies.

>great minds think alike—

“The more or less mechanical transformation of the methods of work hitherto in vogue among the artisans and peasants did not fit in well with the habits or mentality of this new working-class. The way in which the peasants and artisans had formerly worked had nothing comparable to the intensive labour of the new factory-worker. In the old trades, time did not play a highly important role, but it became an essential element in the new industrial system. The formal taking over of the old working hours by the mammoth industrial enterprises had fatal results. The actual amount of work hitherto accomplished within a certain time was comparatively small, because the modern methods of intensive production were then unknown. Therefore, although under the older system a working day of fourteen or even fifteen hours was not unendurable, now it was beyond the limits of human endurance, because under the new system every minute was utilised to the extreme. This absurd transference of the old working hours to the new industrial system proved fatal in two directions. Firstly, it ruined the health of the workers; secondly, it destroyed their faith in a superior law of justice. Finally, on the one hand, a miserable wage was received and, on the other, the employer held a much more lucrative position than before. In the open country there could be no social problem, because the master and the farm-hand were doing the same kind of work and doing it together. They ate their food in common, and sometimes even out of the same dish. But this, too, was altered. The division created between employer and employee seems now to have extended to all branches of life.”
