>Communism is ba-AAAACK
You voted for it. This is precisely the terminals rage of capitalism where COPROs try to surveil and control every aspect of human existence.

I only use my 4k tv as a giant computer monitor. Can’t imagine actually using the smart tv shit.
>>
>>544867649
pretty stupid when that just makes sonos the better soundbar than samsung when you can switch off the mic
>>
No shit, how do you think the cost of 60" flatscreen TVs went from $12000(2004-5) to $1200? You think technology and mass production did that? They're recovering those losses somewhere. Same with game consoles. And phones.
>>
>>544867864
But your tv listening to you would be a staple in communism. An intelligence agency with overreaching authority is as communist as famines
>>

They still capture and send data. You have to cut their Wifi and BT antennas because these TVs will even hunt down open networks to connect to wherever possible.
They snap pictures of whatever you're displaying on your "monitor" and send the info to a database.

GamersNexus did a whole deep-dive on LG tvs doing the same shit. You can go watch it if you're unsure. It's 100% real.

A TV should never be connected to the internet.
You're asking for it if you connect anything with sensors to the internet.
I even keep my phone mostly disconnected from the internet and only quickly enable that when I absolutely need it for a minute or 2, then disconnect. I already know those 2 minutes will be used to update on my position and other things, but well one day I will get one of those phones with sandboxed apps.

Cool, now can we have some proofs and not just a literal who's twitter screenshot?

Would it?
The Soviets and Chinese have produced TV without that. By the way Soviet radios have lasted for 40+ years. No spy devices detected. In fact school kids were ancouraged to take the devices apart for educational reasons.

I'm aware. I think this guy in particular is engagement farming.

So what? Don't like it don't buy it. You have a problem with capitalism? Besides, if you've got nothing to hide then what do you have to fear? I bet you don't like flock either do you?

All smart TV's are, but why worry about that when you carry a smart phone around with you 24/7?

Young males in the West used to be encouraged to build basic electronics like crystal radios. We had stores selling electronics kits for children.

you have to physically cut the mic out. if you think "turning it off" by pushing a button or changing a setting actually turns it off, i got some bad news for you bro.

Heathkit had dozens of kits for all skill levels. My dad's oscilloscope, that lasted for decades, was a Heathkit. Heathkit had some version of every consumer electronic device you could think of.
When the IC made TVs disposable in the mid-late 80s was when Heathkit started dying.
>>
>>544868973
i used to get these kits from radio shack that were like "101 different electronics" or something to that effect, where it was a breadboard and a bunch of wires
there were instructions on how to wire it to make alarms, clocks, and all kinds of shit
>>
If only these tech companies hadn’t given money to our politicians! There’s nothing we can do. These things know whats on your screen, listens to your mics, and phones it home.

Gamers nexus has great videos on this. Glowniggers can use exploits in your Asus router then your LG TV to listen to everything you say.
