If you use the scenario that they used a nuclear weapon just on Kiev. I think that is the most realistic. It would cause Russia to quickly lose the war. The only trading partners they would have left is Iran and North Korea. China has already reached out diplomatically to Russia telling them not to use a nuclear weapon. It would be totally against Chinese policy and seen as a total insult after the diplomacy. At the very least China would stop helping Russia and there would be a good chance China could actively support Ukraine, for free! No one would buy Russian oil and gas. India would stop. Likely on there own, but certainly after Europe, America, and Japan start secondary sanctions against any company doing business with Russia. International space station would be abandoned quicker. Populaces around the world would support Ukraine. Most people are pretty neutral now and sick of hearing about the war. Nuclear weapons change the game. There is still a lot of fear with them.

Also I think this would pretty much give NATO a pretext to get involved in Ukraine.Maybe they would send troops in Ukraine.Because this would cause a huge wave of refugees and NATO would claim this is a humanitarian catastrophe and it can no longer sit on the sides and must get invovled directly.So I would say NATO troops would go in Ukraine to secure the area due to massive influx of refugees.They would go there to build camps but also install air defence systems and radars to detect any further attacks.
