He still looked a bit clunky and awkward but he can smooth that out. His podcast experience actually contributes to his ability to freewheel a bit and respond and connect on the fly so I don’t think he will be too bad in hearings but he’s going to face much tougher debaters in DC and I expect some speed bumps along the way.

I think it was Destiny who had this huge terror moment of Trump dying of a stroke or something and JD Vance lifting the tariffs to help out with the economy and riding that through to 2028 which takes them to the 2030 census which is extremely favorable to Republicans. The midterms will have a big impact on how Trump is able to govern the next two years and how much he can accomplish but I don’t personally see the Strait of Hormuz staying closed that long. Talks will likely resume when the DNC can pull him back a bit and the Iranians feel like they have more leverage. That ironically might help with the economy.Then there’s 2028 itself. I will never put it past the democrats to fuck themselves over. If AOC, Newsom, and Harris are the front runners in their primary I expect to see an outright bloodbath that will likely fragment and split the coalition again. That’s the pitfall of a “big tent” party. Harris seems to be the front runner of the three which will be unpopular with their voters. AOC will have a grass roots following but the super delegates will be against her. Latinos don’t want to vote for a woman either way. Jim Clyburn announced he will be running for another term at 85 and he’s a major string puller in the party especially with the black caucus so expect him to push for Harris which helps further alienate Latinos. Then there’s Newsom and millionaire straight white guy with California governorship that went poorly at best is outright toxic across many levels of the democrat diaspora. Whoever it is is going against Vance and Rubio who are both very good candidates in their own right. Personally I think Rubio is the stronger of the two.
