I’m sure /pol/ has some /preppers/ lurking. What are some basic essentials for prepping? I’m looking for suggestions for
>Freeze dried emergency food supplies
>Crank radios
>Other essentials
So far I have been looking at either Peak Fuel or Mountain House for freeze dried food? MH seems to be sold out of everything, and most people say PF packs taste better.
For crank radios I was thinking a Midland ER310.
Anyone have any suggestions for other things to get? Not just vague “get a flashlight” but makes and models of things.

When the shtf and the emp knocks out the world grid you won't have internet. That means no ordering things online and having it mailed direct to your house. In tough times you're going to have to improvise. Life hack. Everyday garden vegetables, root vegetables in particular, can be utilized as not only food, but as a viable stand in for the cancer chemical spiked silicone dildoes you used to order from China. Pro tip from me to you. And you're welcome.

Asides from a 3day bug out bag, which is past the point of redundancy as far as the availability of builds dependent on your situation / climate goes (see various veteran guntubers and their guides for that etc.) there exists another paradigm which this topic applies
namely, the application of survival principles relative to the great tribulation, and all that that entails
i want to remind everyone here that God is not a respector of persons; the pretrib rapture is a lie, and everyone will be experiencing God's Judgements of the world, only the faithful remnant is spared from The day of YHVH/Jesus Christ and His Wrath of God
in order to understand some of these principles, please reexamine the narrative of the exodus with moses; our particular similarity will be copying this but shortened to a 3 and 1/2 year tribulation and scattered abroad rather than 40 years in one particular wilderness, instead of moses we get 144,000 Sealed by God; and no harm may come upon them the entirety of that duration
so bearing in mind that the Torah is basically a survival manual for a multitude in a wilderness WROL, its good to start there for what to bring, as well as what station of office you'll likely encounter during the preamble of the first month or so of the great tribulation
it isn't likely to be day 1; we get the mark of the beast, but probably a process of a month or so during a future passover date (pray not your flight be in winter etc), if you add 42 months to passover youll get a future fulfillment of the autumn feasts, which have yet to be fulfilled by Jesus Christ basically
i can go into more details, but Monte Judah with lion and lamb ministries is a former naval logistics engineer turned into a preacher ministry, he specifically tackles the issues of the greater exodus and how to prepare the heart mind and soul for great tribulation
i would advise his lecture titled "the greater exodus", him and others in the messianic movement such as Eddie Chumney also

with that being said; something like the Feast of Tabernacles / Sukkot is basically a training program by God for the believers to rehearse what exactly their ancestors had to endure as much as it is to train one for encountering the hostile elements and the world

recall there are several other Commandments, which at first glance may or may not make sense in a modern context, but rest assured they are there for your survival

one such example would be to put a paddle on your weapon, for the purposes of latrine duty in an encampment within the wilderness
it goes without saying, that if you're not taking proper precautions with regards to something like waste disposal; all its going to take for you and everyone else to get sick is open air feces and flies going from that to your next meal, suddenly everyone has dysentery
you also lose out on God's Blessings of Protection if He is Walking through the camp and encounters your excrement
so dont do that

also, slaying the sons of amalek on sight
well what exactly defined the amalekites and their behaviours?
think of the similar principle of a mad max raider cannibal savage- someone who will recieve the gospel and your kindness and mercy only for the sole purpose of deceptions and to in turn simply slay you and others at the most convenient moment
after that theyll busy themselves raping your women and makings slaves out of the survivors, youll be pillaged and murdered if you do not kill them on sight
this is a positive Commandment which remains in effect for hostile savages and the like
amalekites were the ones who attacked Israel when they were most vulnerable in narrow mountain passages of sinai; they attacked the rear where the elderly, women, and children were gathered
note: a majority of the lessons in Torah are for your edification, do not repeat the same mistakes of unbelief and doubt when it comes to morale in a camp
there will be manna and water with the 144,000

Most of this shit is toys purpose-built to sell to hobby preppers. Meaningless. If you have proper equipment you don't need 'emergency ponchos' and so on. The only prepper-style shit you should buy specially is rice and put it in mylar bags, buy ammo, and fuel stabilizer. Maybe a solar panel if you have any critical equipment like a GPS or NVG. Otherwise renewable resources and skills are more important.

some other essentials besides the aforementioned entrenchment tool / paddle, would personal defense weapons, not that this should be your sole source of defence; for God is my High Tower and Shield, and no weapon formed against the house of israel shall prosper
other things to consider is mobility, you do not want to carry an excessive burden unless you also have accompanying beasts of burden- likewise a vehicle is noisy and in need of modern civilization for its maintenance, and in a world of shit and the mark of the beast, good luck getting gasoline out in the boondocks

youll want to bring a tent / sukkah, as shelter is necessary on a list of priorities, and one suited for your climate
in continental zones and harsh winter places, you will likely need several individuals packing pieces of a massive tent and stove combo, in addition to what others items are needed, think of cold weather warfare and 10 or so guys to a tent, a sled will be useful as much as a donkey or something
again, i would advise against depending on something like a motor vehicle beyond getting you to a known rendevous point with your bretheren of like minded-ness and faith

ezekiel 20:33+ details some of the reasonings for why we are tested and held to account before the Judgements of the Almighty- part of this is to do with the fact God Is purging the rebels
dont think that modern man wont turn into a complete panzy-assed bitch the moment he loses his creature comforts and mcdonalds happy meals; they complained for a lack of cucumbers and tomatoes once before, how much moreso burgers and fries nowadays?
manna isnt all that bad, this is 3 and 1/2 years not 40 for disobedience but rather the PROVING of whether or not we will hear and obey the LORD God with all our heart, strength, mind, and soul

mobility will be key; your enemy is the antichrist and his limitations are infrastructure and technocrat garbage in the face of Judgments on the world and environment

i would tldr plan as follows:

>have a 3day bug out bag for each one of the members of your survival group
>make sure everyone is on the same page with a rendevouz point come the time of the abomination of desolation
>have a stockpile of 30-90 days food and water at the place of rendevouz; or otherwize a location isolated and away from civilization and accessible to a front of survival materials and ease of access to things like foraging and hunting for the time being
>dont bring your idols with you: things like cellphones and innerweebs are done and away with come this time, dont transmit your location via signals the antichrist can geolocate and triangulate
>move with a purpose, dont hesitate, kill the sons of amalek on sight and do not barter or broker their randsom- they will betray and murder you the first chance they get so be proactive in that regard and gettem first
>have faith in GOD to get you through this
>once you have rallied, make your way to wherever the nearest member of the 144,000 is
>likely there will be a reoccurrence of something like a pillar of fire by day and a cloud by night or some kind of way of finding them, ensure you know how to navigate
>do not pull a Lot's Wife and return to civilization after the mark of the beast is issued, that will be your death sentence even if you resist it
>do not fight the antichrist in some kinda larp revolution; he who lives by the sword will die by the sword, remember, the beast overcomes the saints in those days as a witness and testimony for Jesus Christ when theyre inevitably martyred for their selfsame witness and testimony
>dont be complacent, when you see that abomination of desolation GTFO, especially on the dime if you are in israel or jerusalem the day of

my thoughts and prayers are with you, those of the family and covenant of my God, be assured HE IS COMING

What's a bug out bag for? Camping? You will last a couple of days tops with that kit. Most it won't be used. Believe me i am a prepper and you know what i can't get enough of? Food. I have it but its never enough. I always need fresh fruits and vegetables which requires to go to the grocery store. It's not cheap. Living on rice and beans is a no no. You want fresh fruits and vegetables.
>>
>>544887628
Incredible.

Just amazing. How could you have such a poor theory of mind?
>>
>>544887678
I don't. Like i said you can prep all you want but without access to fresh fruits and vegetables you won't survive long. Just be realistic here. The most important thing people need is FOOD. Then water and then shelter. The best way to prep is have those 3 already secured. Now like i said its hard to keep up your stock of fresh produce. So when and if society implodes unless you have orchards of fruit trees and gardens you aren't going to make it.
>>
>>544887795
What do you think a bugout bag is?
>>
You read it here, put fruit trees in your hummer.
>>
>>544888058
A cope bag that is actually useless.

If i ever had to flee a place it would have to be prepared for long term survival in itself. So what would i carry with me if i had to rebuild? To my means it would be a truck full of tools, seeds, clothes, socks, a 22 lr for small game, emergency whistle and for luxury maybe some audio books.
>>
>>544888276
lulz

you're simply wrong, but I'm not interested in you becoming non-stupid. I don't want you to survive.
>>
>>544888385
You won't survive long unless you plan to rebuild. This is why your grandparents canned fruits and vegetables for the winter in the off growing season. They had a literal pantry full of canned fruits and vegetables to get them thru the winter. Your little buggy bag won't last you a week.
>>
>>544888276
A bugout bag is something you take with you to get from point A to point B.
You aren’t living out of it to survive the apocalypse or become Johnny fucking Appleseed
>>
>>544888556

>>
>>544888573

>crank radio
Why? Get a communication radio. There's no test for a GMRS license. They come with the ability to listen to NOAA weather channels. Baofeng GM32 is cheap and can be charged via usb-c. That way you have options for power and communication. Solar, battery packs, car, whatever. Radio guys are fanatics about their radios. If the power goes out, these guys will still have solar powered repeaters running for comms. Know how to use a repeater and what channels/frequencies are used in your area.
>emergency food
Those ones you buy premade are all carbs. You have options. You can get a freeze dryer and make whatever you want, but it is expensive. You can buy freeze dried meats and pair those with minute rice (and maybe vegetables) for quick, on-the-go food. If you want protein (you do) make shelf-stable jerky or biltong. Biltong is easy. From memory (double check for safety): Soak strips of meat in malt vinegar for 10 minutes or so. Add salt and ground coriander to all surfaces. Hang to dry until they are reduced in weight by 1/2. To eat, slice thin across the grain.
>other essentials
A candle. I have a UCO candle lantern. Candles give heat and light. You can survive a very cold night in the woods with a blanket and a lit candle. An emergency blanket is also a good idea. Waterproof, easily packable, and reflects heat.
>>
>>544888573
thats what a "never coming back-pack" is for ..like a good framed aliced pack..bugouts are for getting home...and if you never have rucked you are fucked trying to hike with all that gear. use zinc oxide body tape abd wrap your feet and apply alittle Vaseline between toes to keep blistering down

How many times? The most important thing you need is food. You are underestimating how much labor goes into prepping to maintain enough food to eat throughout the year. It's massive. Most people are just a couple of days out from starvation if they don't get fed and they don't have stockpiles of food. So you can stock up on rice and beans but it's not a complete diet. You will slowly die from eating that. You need land, fruit trees, gardens, a source of water, shelter and a means to store and preserve the food for the winter. It's so much labor and it's not cheap at all.

Most people who try and live off grid raising chickens, growing gardens, FAIL. Because you have a bad growing season, disease, animals will try and eat your chickens. You will be defeated.

>>544888896
That's why going off grid is risky. You are so far away from civilization doing your own thing that any mistake can end your life. But i am saying living out there is not sustainable or easy. So let's say you take your bug out bag to an already prepared homestead then you will be fighting hard to survive like you can't believe. Your grandparents had gardens and did canning and preserving but they also had electricity, running water, a job, a house, land, the food they ate was supplementary.

How many people do you know that are completely self sufficient living off grid? Like zero. The ones who larp it have to bring in large propane tanks to power their fridge and freezer. They have food coming in. It's just an outdoor larp fest.
>>
>>544889082
:^)

You say, "going off-grid is risky".

And, what if there is no grid anymore?
>>
>>544889212
Well that's a terrifying thought because then you would need a commune already setup off grid proven workable to sustain human life. Now how did tribes survive before civilization? They lived off the land. Now it's been speculated that if everyone goes "camping" when and if the grid collapses and tries to live off the land the wild game populations would disappear. There's literally not enough food out there to sustain the amount of people industrial farming provides.
>>
>>544889423
lmao

Everyone's thought of all of these things already. All of them. It's a genre of self-help, and of fiction (scenarios).

The absolute basics are a week's worth of food and water- with enough water for both drinking and hygiene for every person in your house, plus some extra just in case-, hygiene supplies for the household, enough prescription medication to ride out a couple of weeks, batteries and chargers for any necessary devices, a basic first aid kit that you keep topped up and know how to use the contents of, an emergency radio you know how to use, and perpetually full fuel tanks. Get home bags and bugout plans are great but if you can't survive a minor catastrophe at home you're just wasting everyone's time. Also keep your supplies turned over. Sealed foods and water both have a shelf life, as do medicines and things like bandages, and first aid boxes are notorious for being emptied of the most useful things and never refilled. You should also obtain maps of your local area with police, fire, hospital/vet/clinic, national guard staging grounds, and major utility locations clearly marked, along with main and major secondary routes through and out of the vicinity.

Mossberg isn't a necessity

for the scavenge list, any ammo you can find, but in particular for your own weapons. eventually you'll settle somewhere, find a reloading book and some supplies: casings, powder, primers, projectiles, and a bench. either get your ass to somewhere like Runnings that sells the equipment and supplies, or find some other preppers place to hunker down...if you can take it from him or he's gone. obviously food and water, but lead is the resource that can get you other resources

You can't know what you can't see and can't find. Yeah i fear the wilderness because it's wild and untamed and you can get killed by someone out there and nobody will care or find out about it.
