>>544889849It's really a legacy AAA industry thing, the companies are ran by people who don't play video games, the devs in these companies don't want to make video games, they want to make propaganda first, being a video game is secondary if even present of mind on their agenda, the games take too long to make because the devs are wasting time on nonsense like sensitivity readers and making sure nothing icky is in the game, there is no singular cause but maybe 3-4 big problems at every AAA game studio that if they don't correct they will implode, the indies don't have these problems because they are small and aren't made by comittee, 1-12 people tops probably and it isn't a democracy, someone has a vision, the programmer and the artist let them know if they can make it happen or if they have to tweak it and there is no board telling them no they can't do it.
