This is a metaphor for minerals and rocks used to create computer chips for AI’s and robotics. Always digging out their way and not succeeding is a metaphor for humanity always advancing but being taken back technologically due to mass wars and natural disasters, floods, ice age etc.. that most likely destroyed ancient civilizations and the advancement towards the inevitable that is AI, until now.
