It's not the codeine that makes you trip, its the DXM (dextromethorphan). And DXM is indeed a very effective cough supressant.I've always found it wild how other countries have codeine (an opiate) in OTC cough medicine that anyone can buy. I assumed the manufacturers formulate such products in such a way that the codeine cannot easily or cost effectively be extracted.Any euro drug nerds able to expound upon this? But then since some fucking retard has to be obnoxious and ruin it, we can’t have nice things and we get more nannystate laws making it a pain to acquire narcotics.DXM is fine and works, but not nearly as pleasant. The shitty OTC drug you get cause you can’t act like a fucking adult.Oh, and separating the codeine is rather easy, I believe a 1/10 to morphine ratio so you adjust accordingly when preparing should you wish to suppress all forms of pain.
