Is this true? A unironic neet I know of who never left the house since highschool had a crazy mother who literally wouldn’t let him out of the house since he was a kid.
NEETs come from a wide variety of parenting styles. I've known NEETs from hard working parents to NEETs from NEET parents. The common factor is either high IQ or low IQ. NEETs ride the bellcurve hard.
>>544903190Na my parents were like this - somehow both neglectful and overbearing - and my brother and I are both successful.
AND MOMMY PLEASE! PLEASE DON'T BEAT ME! I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT WENT WRONG! TELL ME WHAT I'M SUPPOSED YO DO!*SLAP*Mommy... please... I'm sorry...*SLAP*Mom...One day. I will incinerate that woman.:)
I'm sympathetic to someone that had a shitty upbringing, whether that's completely absent parenting or the helicopter style. But you have to accept, once you turn 18 and they lose any kind of legal hold over you, that it starts to become your fault. Because nobody is making you stay and put up with that situation. Can I assume that okay, if you're not starting off from a good position that maybe you have to "suck it up" for a couple of years at least to save up some money or education/training and so on to get independent with your own job and the like and then you can actually move out, sure. But when I look at a situation where someone is still living with their parents at 30+ I have no sympathy. At that point it is your fault. And I say that knowing that things have gotten more difficult of course with rising costs to live and buy/rent and so on but where there is a will there is a way. I think what happens is that certain people just kind of, get used to the lifestyle of having meals handed to them, being able to sleep late, never having to worry about finances and so on because things like the bills/mortgage are being paid by someone else. That not having any responsibilities for so long leads them to conclude that deciding to take on some, whether that's employment in some form or whatever it is, that they just decide I won't bother. And they just get used to that "lifestyle" to the point where maybe they don't even question it.The only thing I'll add is that I understand that some people maybe just aren't suited for like a regular 9 to 5 job, that's fine. There are many different options though like freelancing or actually giving self employment a go where you try something like set up an online store or provide services online. What I find very strange is how after so many years that a lot of people simply "give up" and decide that something like being terminally online, watching porn, playing vidya, alcohol/weed, etc is just going to be their life. Sad.
Increasingly I've realized that most people are insane deluded slaves, and I don't care to compete with anyone or compare. Set my own goals, realistic or not, and move toward them.
My parents were ex-communists who came from a pretty strict regime where neighbors and friends squealed on each other for wearing western clothing and got years of hard labor for it, so they never trusted anybody. The fear of the government was instilled in me since birth, and I would be very harshly punished for doing things like inviting friends over to the house. My mom legitimately thought all my friends were pedophiles when they were the same age as me in my teens, and my dad thought a speeding ticket meant I was a criminal drug addict that will get 10-15 years in jail for it eventually but they let me off with warnings because I was young.I have grown up never knowing the concept of "family friends" or even having anyone over the house because they explicitly forbid it. But what's worse is that, at all times, they reinforced their authority over everything in the world and that they knew more than me and had more life experience and that this paranoid way of living and harsh punishment was the norm. To their credit, they never divorced or dabbled in hard drugs or infidelity, and I grew up regularly mocking people who had divorced parents because I thought, as I was taught, they were literally all drug addicts and criminals. This made me go into NEET mode for most of my life until 30 when I got a job and moved out, and suddenly I rebelled against them for the first time, something I should have done at 16 like every other kid. My brother moved out at 40 and that was also the first time he rebelled. We both realized we were extremely stunted and maladapted to society and, in a way, the world was a scary place after all with untrustworthy criminal drug addicts and my parents were right all along, even after they passed away.
what ia it called when you grow up in an environment where your family has an intense reaction to both small and big problems in the household and you as a child lose definition between what is a normal and abnormal stress response to stimuli and you grow into a persistent state of non-relaxation and tension? and what if you're in a bitter split custody environment where exhibiting traits or learned knowledge from either parent causes the opposing parent to resent or reprimand the child and also the parents dont express approval or disapproval in ways and you end up not being able to be around anyone in the house because there is a constant spring tension to everything and even the slighest verbal interaction expands into vitriol so the child stops reaction to things, stops being motivated because motivation begets vague punishment compound this with an apathetic public education system that just lets the child pass through despite him withdrawing from schoolwork entirely when he was engaged earlier onand what if he grows up and he doesnt even know what trying is or what being curious is and hes been in a hypervigilant state since childhood and cant sleep normally and cant function and has been severely depressed since he was a child his apathetic weed smoking parents never bothered to get him evaluatedwhat if he doesnt see the value or sanctity of life and he now wants to murder people and commit suicide with a high powered high capacity rifle
i am ready to go. i am ready to leave. i am ready to leave. i am tired of living and i am tired of human beings and the way they pretend to one another and how its all fake and nothing's really nice under the surface and i want to burn things down and kill people
>>544903457nope, OP cap is 100% trueyou cant know shit as outsider, you need to live with those people. If you want to notice and look past well practiced facade of "decent parents" those parent project around them you will see exact thing mentioned.IntentMother fucking intent to never allow your child to be better than you
>>544903803I wish you luck in your quest
i need to end my life but i need to leave behind some sort of damage as a message that i am not welcome in this world and that i do not wish to be born again and to assert that i do not identify with humanity and i need you all dead and gone
>>544903190You're looking too hard into it, if there were plenty of easy well-paying jobs there wouldn't be any neets
