I never really got to experience early internet but I have experienced web 2.0 and 3.0 thoroughly due to being a computer autist and fascination with the world.When I was young my parents would chastise me for spending too much time on the computer instead of in real life. I would be an outcast for spending too much time on the internet. Now the roles have reversed where the normies spend too much time addicted to the internet.The issue I have with it today is algorithms. They have existed for decades however today they have had decades of companies combining them with advertising and any data they have to cater things specifically to you in hopes of getting you to buy things. However, they also combine this with data on things you like watching so that you create a feedback loop of positive brain chemicals while swiping short form content with an advertisement sprinkled in every couple of swipes. I really do not see much of an issue with looking at the internet as it is a great source of knowledge however the modern internet is not the same as the late 90s/early 00s internet I grew up on. Even researching topics and learning things the great majority of normies do by watching influencers instead of directly reading text on the subject.I've noticed a great decrease in attention span and cognitive ability not only among the young but also the old and I attribute that entirely to the internet. The kikes may be behind the push of women to not have children but that meme has been going since the 70s of pushing women into careers and honestly even earlier since the 40s with ww2 propaganda. However the internet is something I have no control over. Maybe I shaped a little bit of internet culture as some memes I made I have seen posted here thousands of times. But shaping culture is nowhere near the same as having complete control of data and what form that causes the internet to become.
