I live in the middle of nowhere with Indian Reservations around me. They're almost all drunks or junkies with fucked-up lives. They also have free education, healthcare, housing, casino money, tribal policing, exclusive hunting, fishing, and harvesting rights, yet still manage to have their lives a complete trainwreck before 25. What the fuck is wrong with them? Of all conquered cultures on earth, they have been gifted a silver spoon by their own conquerors, and choose to throw it all away for a life of addiction, rape, and petty crime. How does this end? My job does some work on the rez, and all the houses are unmaintained with garbage all over the fuckin place despite them being set for life. I don't understand. They're the only non-white group I sympathize with because of treaty obligations so we give gibs to by virtue of whites basically having their continent for free, but they can't help being all fucked up and it's disappointing.
