There has to be a greater ambition besides having Top10 number in random chart. A true superpower needs to advance civilization in some aspect. Be it scientific discovery, politicial and sociological paradigm shift or revolutionary technological advancement.Superpowers do things like go where no human has been, rebuild their entire country in way nobody does or give something the entire world can't live without afterwards. Space travel, flight, railroads, the idea of countries, writing, farming etc.IMHO next superpower would be the one that figures out at least the biological limits and implications of life and death and can achieve both on a whim.
