Even in a materialistic, anti-spiritual context, oblivion is quite unlikely. Our essence/atoms that make us is broken down and spread out back into the Earth to be used again to make new life. This is not a transfer of a soul or essence, your essence is allocated to random points of life, be it a bird, insect, nigger, or Adonis. This essentially makes Earth a torture chamber, similar to the Demiurge's prison. But there's a chance any one of the religions are true too. So upon your death, your soul or being is subject to their afterlife systems as well. The ride never ends.

How can we be sure this isn't a trick for a predator that eats your soul when you die? And what if you don't know about this predator it won't know about you.
you cant sense the absence of time so your return is instantaneous
Look at any story, whether it be in a movie, game, book, etc. The universe and characters have their systems and lore - yet outside of the story it all has no bearing.
>>544954501The fact anything exists at all freaks me out. Existence is scary
>>544954710Pretty sure I died at least once, I felt time pass but I think it went faster than it was, like Inception but the opposite.
You ruined your thread with attaching that Pascal's wager retardation pic to it.Assuming the soul exists and is made of metaphysical matter that ultimately cannot be destroyed as with physical matter at the smallest units, who is to say that your soul can't be broken down into its smallest units and that your memories would stay intact after dying?>>544954663Too big brained for OP. Just as water in a bottle could have molecules in it that were once part of Jeffrey Dahmer's urine, what if souls are just recompiled matter from previous digested/disassembled souls or other metaphysical matter?

>>544954916What I am trying to describe isn't pascal's wager. I just included it as picrel because my theory reminds me of it.
>>544954501What if a divine exists but you were tricked into worshiping an evil impostor as God? At the very least, your confusion should disappoint the divine who provided you with a heart and a mind meant to pass such a trivial test of the character
