The idea is that if you constantly worry about the outer world and try to get your happiness from it you’ll never be happy. If you decide to let go of the outer world and allow yourself to relax you begin to be happy, and this inner happiness begins to affect the outer world rather than the other way around. Let go my friend and you will be happy.

There's already a thread about movies from 1999 on /pol/.

I feel like these niggas in the movie I hate my office job so much even if it pays well. Foid manager is actually starting long drawn out process to fire me

Would anyone on /pol/ recommend working security? It seems way better to just sit or walk around and get paid
>>
>>545002717
I’m having a philosophical schism on a movie please don’t bring me down with your shit thread.
>>
The whole point of that film is to try to show you how most people spend their lives in intangible prisons of their own making. They worry way too much what others think about them and they think putting on a fake persona is the way to go. Then they become unhappy because as they get older the fantasy of the life they wanted becomes less and less achievable.

As for "happiness", it's just a state of mind. Like you you can feel hungry or tired, it can come and go. The biggest trick the Jews pulled was convincing you that this was some worthy state to remain in constantly. It really isn't, that's even what drugs provide, they give you the shortcut to the internal state you want, whenever you want and look how that causes problems for people.

It's okay to suffer, we learn and grow through it. It's amusing to me to hear millennials and zoomers talk about "their passion", the etymology of that word is to suffer. We still have it with things like "passion of the Christ". To get really fucking good at anything you have to be willing to suffer, actually put in not just the time but the work. Continuing to do things even though you don't want to. Being okay with your mind being in a state of frustration, even pain, because you have a longer term goal in mind.

NPCs that just want to stay in their "comfortable" states will always just be cattle, for that reason alone.

The film is trying to show you how so many things we think are real, aren't actually real. The manager didn't actually have any authority, he was just hiding behind perceived authority and bureaucracy.

Yeah so are faggots like OP that think comfy make-work office jobs with high salaries and great job security are a bad thing.
>>
>>545002517
I can dig it.
>>
>>545002517
it's a movie bro
>>
No it's not. It's a fantasy for people who can't cut it at a high functioning job for whatever reason. You're not going to get Jennifer Aniston by dropping out and following your passions.

>while i appreciate the sentiment of this film and Fight Club, it really falls flat today
My dad used to complain constantly about his shit boss. He was working in IT and if you adjust his wages for inflation when he retired he was making the equivelant purchasing power of like $200k.
>>
>>545002517
It’s really true. I began thinking this way a while ago. I work with some “2 chicks at the same time” types, and I have found myself getting along better with them then the more “cerebral” coworkers lately. Small talk is fairly based in small doses. Eventually I do shut my office door because enough is ENOUGH. Also, cubicles or better yet open workspaces are based and offices are overrated

In office space they had no job security and were constantly expected to work unpaid weekends. In fight club he was an adjuster sent out to make settlements because the manufacturers cars killed people. Do you retarded broccoli heads even watch these movies or do you just order $25 doordash burritos and watch shorts about them and seethe endlessly that not everyone is a loser like you,?

>Eventually I do shut my office door because enough is ENOUGH.
Bro I had two coworkers talk for 3 FUCKING hours before I just straight up said "I need to get some goddamn work done." Granted it started kind of fun but they just would not shut up.

tfw traditional cubicles are now considered a luxury compared to the open concept goy space hell.

the latter. they're actually $50 burritos and we use AI to generate a podcast-style synopsis of the short clips.

the way the characters in these movies disrespect their work places sickens me. i would kill to have their shitty jobs but no one will give me a chance :(

Hunger and tiredness don't just come and go. Babies die if they're not touched. Loneliness gives you brain damage. Starving people will literally eat rotting, putrid scraps and poison (hence drugs). The solution isn't to just take it, it's to realise we have needs that must be met! Modernity does everything to keep us naive to joy and beauty so we think this is as good as it gets.
>>
>>545002838
My friend does security overseas for the military. Gets paid ~60-70k. Company is gay but he just sits around all day. If you’re a computer nerd it’s possibly great, because you can work a side-job online while sitting on your ass, and it may even look like you’re watching the cameras (they have gate guards, camera guards, etc and the chill factor depends on which you’re on shift for but they’re all generally sit around and do nothing type jobs).
Then just call the police and do nothing if niggers show up. I don’t know if I’d seriously recommend it, but if you can double dip with something else I can see it being steady income while you experiment with a personal business.
>>
>>545004079
There is nothing to respect in a job that makes everybody else's life worse.
>>
>>545003721
>muh job might maybe one day possibly fire me because I sit at my desk and pretend to work instead of lifting the occasional royal finger

>muh job makes money gaming the system the jews imposed on western civilization, wahhh maybe a couple of people will die

You niggers have never worked in a real office and it shows. This shit is everywhere, and it's not nearly as bad as hollywood jews would have you believe.
>>
I think this movie scared men away from office work and into going into the trades which has worse problems

This was the era before 9/11 when Indian vedic thoughts were slowly starting to mature within America, yogic vidya and tantra were starting to take prominence. America was kinda open to spiritual thought. Until 9/11 closed it off for all foreigners, unfortunately even us Hindus though we aren't muslim.
Shockingly, NYC elected a muslime rat as their mayor 25 yrs later. Way to go, stupid Americunts.

Office Space is about master/slave morality.
Peter was a slave who hated life, gets hypnotized into having master morality, which gets him promoted, and a relationship with the woman he was scared to approach beforehand. He realizes office work is master/slave signaling and a popularity contest, so he decides to work blue-collar, where the priority is getting the job done, and "office politics" doesn't exist.
>Has anyone ever said to you, sounds like someone has the case of the Mondays?
>Shit no man, I believe you'd get your ass kicked saying something like that
>>

I do too.

I kind of understand the sentiment of this common joke but at the same time it seems like Stockholm syndrome. Automation and technology was advancing so rapidly during our parents parents generation that it’s why schools started to teach random time wasting classes to get people interested anout hobbies- bevause in the future they thought you would have something like a twenty hour work week. at some point everythinf got hijacked. People not only have almost no time or energy after working full time but they also have almost no money bevause they fucked up the pay raises at some point despite graphs showing that productivity sky rocketed. So the people at the top made massive profits and slowly the workers got poorer and poorer due to inflation. So unironically there should and needs to be a better system than this. Youre just accepting the shit put on your plate but making fun of people who criticize the system.

It would've been more compelling if he became the true master of his domain, cucked Lumbergh, and rescued Milton and his coworkers.

I am 40 so I saw it happen firsthand. All I'm saying is that such films were aimed toward spoiled Gen X yuppies and this is clearly visible today.
If only everyone realized how good they had it back then.
>>
>>545003896
This shit is soulless. you have to be some kind of low iq drone worker bug whi has grown up in a house of 20 people to tolerate working conditions like this where you have no privacy and are being watched 24/7 while you try to think and solve problems. Also there is the noise issue of what I assume is a storm of 50 keyboards and people talking and mouse clicks and stupid shit
>>
>>545010449
I haven’t watched the movies I’m just arguing anout the over simplified argument anout people complaining about well paying office jobs. Yeah it’s retarded to a point I understand it— but objectively humans were not meant to sit in some cubicle for 40 hours a week plus sit in a car commuting for whatever amount of hours. Not body wasn’t designed for it and it’s unhealthy. and it’s a completely unnatural life style. offices are also weird passive aggressive environments with a bunch of pansy guys judging eachother over small things and following a bunch of gay made up office rules and social etiquette. I can understand why people would find it unfulfilling after a while despite the money. Many jobs are unfulfilling thiugh and have their own problems and it gets back to my original argument that by now (2026) we should ahve more optimized systems where people work less and make more but we don’t we work the same amount of hours if not more and we make less.

The joke about these guys complaining just serves to defend our gay regarded system we live in in my eyes

That’s cool but when I look at that photo I try to imagine the mindset the workers must live in and it seems like it must be some kind of cult member mentality. where you arent even viewed as a human and they probably have some gay tech way of making it sound less dystopian like saying each of you is a cell in the brain and you all need to be in the same room for all the synapses to communicate and fire off and generate new ideas or some contrived bullshit when in reality they just think the workers won’t goof off as much if at all times theyre in eyesight of 50 people burning out while they’re computer logs how many clicks per minute theyre login AA the worker jiggles the mouse while thinking about work so ai doesnt flag him as not working

nice thread OP.
