The USSR demanded similar deals from the Baltic countries and when they were dumb enough to agree they were immediately annexed with the NKVD moving in to terrorize the population, executing the intelligentsia, writers, landowners and all opposition.We really just want to be left alone but Russians can't accept this because of their ego.
