I watched everyone else get replaced by H1B immigrants and then they came for me. I was literally the last white guy in the building. H1B replacements were a reality for me ever since the early 2000s. I saw it coming and used to talk to the old guard about how fucked up things were getting and how degrees meant fuck all because these Indians would show up with all of their fake degrees and management just accepted them on their word. There was nothing I could do about it. I didn't see AI coming as quickly as it has but that pretty much closed off any other avenues for me to get back into IT. I feel sorry for the Millennials and Zoomers but what the fuck can I do? They resent me for existing in the 80s and '90s and buying shit while it was still cheap like real estate and Bitcoin so I don't have anything to talk to them about that wouldn't just make them angry and spiteful.
