To the non-Jewish peoples who have lived through conflict, displacement, loss, and uncertainty, I address you today with a recognition that can no longer be postponed. The suffering of a people does not become less significant because they belong to a different religion, nationality, or culture. Your lives, your homes, your histories, and your aspirations deserve the same dignity and consideration as those of the Jewish people. No lasting peace can be built upon the belief that one people's pain matters more than another's.
I acknowledge that the policies and decisions of my government have caused profound suffering and deepened distrust among many non-Jewish communities, particularly Palestinians who have endured decades of conflict, displacement, restrictions, and uncertainty about their future. Security concerns are real, but they cannot serve as an unlimited justification for denying others their fundamental rights. Leadership requires not only defending one's own people, but also recognizing when the pursuit of security has imposed unbearable costs upon innocent human beings.
To Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims, Christians, and all others who have felt excluded from the promises of freedom, justice, and equal treatment, I recognize your right to live without fear, humiliation, or collective punishment. No child should inherit hatred as a birthright, and no family should be condemned to perpetual suffering because of the actions of governments or armed groups. Your identities and beliefs do not diminish your humanity, and your legitimate aspirations for self-determination, safety, and opportunity deserve serious and honest consideration.
