I met an artist like 20 years ago who had just signed his first gallery contract. He was painting on location for his opening show. Anthony Phillip I believe is his name. Anyhow, I asked him for his story. The usual, clean cut A grade collage grad, Masters in science (but his real love was art). Took a wage job and hated it. Long story short, he quit his job and just started painting all day everyday. A year later he started doing shows and still painting every single day. Two years later we meet at his opening show. Should have bought something then because I can't afford his original work now. Many such cases.
