Progressivism is uncompetitive in free discursive spaces, which is much of social media. They need to clamp down access to alternative perspectives as much as possible to maintain control but they're especially focused on doing so for minors because childhood indoctrination is one of the few effective tools they have to enforce their narrative. This is also why they're so obsessed with the idea that e-dissent is some kind of organized, conscious effort to propagandize and manipulate (they're projecting)
