It should never costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep anyone alive in any but the most absurd and ridiculous scenarios but everything in our society is completely made up. unless they are rebuilding his body woth a bunch of custom cybernetic custom implants to turn him into Adam Jensen or something those numbers are just what the hospitals and doctors and medicine companies think they can get away with charging because everything in our world today increasingly is a scam of some sort where someone is figuring out how to make the most profit for the least amount of work or effort. The worst part is—- our government just wastes millions of dollar on stupid shit whenever they feel like it.
