Our neighborhood also had a costume parade where during the daytime all the kids in the neighborhood dressed up and did a loop and convened at someones house for snacks like carmel corn balls and cookies. I’ve been thinking about it lately how shitty Halloween is now compared to how it used to be.The neighborhood i grew up trick or treating in doesn’t even do it now.I noticed the cops will block off and designate “trick or treat areas” in just a few shitty modern sardine can McMansion neighborhoods. Makes it impossible to trick or treat as a teen or adult like I used to since it’s early in the day and it’s almost like a roped off kiddie event.Man there was something magical about just parking somewhere and walking just about any decent neighborhood back in the day, seeing trick or treaters everywhere and the vast majority of houses being decorated and open to trick or treaters.Everything is so gay now.
