Jordan Hewitt (Pictured — Sourced from social media), a 24-year-old pedophile from North Ayrshire in Scotland, entered guilty pleas to three child sexual offences when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court. The charges covered possession of indecent images of children across a four-year period from August 2020 to August 2024, distribution of such material from February 2023 to August 2024, and engaging in sexual activity while a child under the age of 13 was present.
In August 2024 police executed a search warrant at Hewitt’s previous address in Irvine and confiscated electronic devices. Examination of the material recovered 32 indecent images, broken down as 18 Category A, 11 Category B and three Category C, together with 21 videos of which 19 were Category A.
Investigators also located online exchanges with individuals sharing similar interests. These included images that appeared to have been digitally altered or produced with AI tools so that a female child was shown unclothed.
Two recordings made by Hewitt in December 2022 depicted a young girl asleep in bed; the camera then shifted to show him carrying out a sexual act in close proximity to her. The child remained unaware of the incident.
Although the evidence was described as serious, Hewitt was not given a prison sentence. Mitigation advanced on his behalf referred to a clean prior record, the early guilty pleas, stated remorse, ongoing mental-health difficulties and social isolation.
Sheriff Colin Bissett acknowledged that the offences met the threshold for custody and characterised Hewitt’s actions as “disgusting,” yet elected to prioritise a rehabilitative disposal.
The court imposed a three-year community payback order that includes social-work supervision, 300 hours of unpaid work and participation in the Moving Forward 2 Change programme. Hewitt was additionally required to register as a sex offender for three years.
