This is the "extreme politics" left and right humans argue about all day.

This is what right wing radio humans fear monger about and think is the worst thing ever lol.

>there is this magical system that will solve all problems without making any tradeoffs if only you give us more power and le mean white men would let us implement it! And the only reason it hasn’t been implemented before was because everyone before the invention of electricity was unexplainable stupid for some unstated reason! And if it was tried and failed then it wasn’t real socialism/progressivism/multiculturalism!
Do Reddit midwits really?

Ironically though, the left in America is right on one thing. The economy needs to be regulated (and any right winger under 40 has long dropped the reaganomics cope.)
But the problem is, progressives make the same mistake the reaganites did when it comes to social issues. (And actual socialism is too far because it posits that human nature can be re-educated out of someone, center left interventionism aligns incentives the best of any system thus far.)
But then the progressives that just made a pragmatic argument on economic regulation turn around and put social issues in an arbitrary sphere where they claim they are sacred rights and wanting to regulate them is evil.
But the separate sphere’s doctrine is in itself, an arbitrary pragmatic organizational tool.
Don’t believe me? When am I doing an economy and doing a social issue? If I paint your fence, at what point does it become economic? If I ask for pay? What if I suspect you will donate to me but it’s never agreed upon? What if I withhold my services until a donation is rendered?
So we’ve established the economy is just people doing things just like the social sphere.
So to be morally consistent, you either have to regulate and moralize both, deregulate both, or make a pragmatism argument (which the modern populist right will win.)
Economy runs downstream of culture. No one wants to invest in a country with instability and widespread scamming. And economy usually works itself out in a country with positive values. And for that you must regulate the social sphere and incentivize strong family creation and religious values…
