If he has to practice the movement sequence 10 times before wrapping the burger really fast, couldn't he just do it slower and be more effective that way?
>>
>>545140380
that's just cope from code monkeys too old to learn new skills.
anything where manual dexterity is a factor is resilient to automation since dexterous robots get really expensive.
anything where the workload isn't predictable and repetitive likewise, since versatile robots get really expensive
anything where legal liability is a factor also, since taking responsibility for a robot's fuck-up is much more expensive than letting an employee take the fall.
basically only programmers and some other jobs adjacent to them like QA are going to be mass-replaced.
other office jobs will see drops but it won't be the end of the world and blue collar jobs are safe as safe can be.
>>
I left software engineering to transition to business, i do requirements writing and general IT just utilizing AI.

coding is dead in the water. Claude can seriously do the job of almost any general programmer now. You’d need to be deeply entrenched in a gigantic aging codebase to still feel secure at this point.

Anyone that knows neural nets and machine learning aren't afraid. We know the truth. Y'all are freaking out about something that's never going to happen. "AI" will never be truly autonomous. a couple years back a jeet woman at the bank was handling my shit and i needed to get some retirement shit moved from one place to another when i changed jobs.
a year of "oh we need you to sign this again" and "oh there was an issue but we've restarted the process" was eventually revealed to be a big fucking 'fake it til you make it' gambit and this woman was completely incapable of doing the job. had some other higher-up woman call me in to the bank in person to re-do the process from square one and this bitch complains about how she had to come into the office to fix the years of problems caused by the jeet woman. i looked that idiot cunt in the eye and told her that if she was in the office monitoring things maybe I wouldn't have had a whole fucking year of being told a basic transfer is akin to deep magic and she wouldn't be here cleaning up a colossal fucking mess. she shut right up unless she needed me to sign or approve something. i fucking hate women and this idiot world crafted for them

I'm currently in a conversation with a buddy whose company hired a jeet CTO and suddenly became a jeet shop with the jeets all just using AI.
They went all-in on the AI. To the point that they have a directive "no hand-coding".
They define their objectives using AI. They make tickets using AI. They point AI at the tickets to write the code. They use AI to inspect the code. Then they just ship it.
They've promised a massive improvement and a revolutionizing of the product by EoY, and they have instead AI'd themselves into a pit of despair.
The jeets simply used the AI to build on top of the old product at the lowest levels. It was easier to treat that product as something that could be 'swapped out' once they found out a way to do it.
But now they don't know how the code works, at all.
It's basically just a giant wrapper on the old product that tries to pretend it doesn't need the old product. But deep-deep down, it has become inextricably intertwined with it.
It's fucking hilarious. Their top engineers have all resigned. They cannot meet business objectives, and those objectives have all been rewritten by AI at this point, so they're mostly just jargon nonsense. So there's now far less direction or understanding of what the product does, and what the product IS SUPPOSED TO EVEN DO.
I love hearing his stories. It's apparently a shit show so big that it might bankrupt a billion dollar company.

From my understanding, AI can do amazing stuff with coding. I truly believe it can. And it will only get better. But when you deal with industrial-level or business-to-business type software, there's rarely enough on-paper understanding that can be transferred to the AI so it can do everything right.
3rd party APIs with highly specific use-cases, very subtle differences in how processes work, and what needs to be isolated and analyzed, etc. Tiny little caveats in code that only come from years of experience with the specific business logic. Quirks and system-level considerations that only reveal themselves with months of real-world data transiting the system, etc...
I mean, you still need experienced troubleshooters. And the less the code is written by AI, the easier it is to troubleshoot.

>company all ins AI
>nobody understands it
>has to double down on AI to get anything done
>project inevitably fails
Every project has been like this for the last 3 years. Its so shit.
The real kicker now is that the people that get obliterated by these retard companies making everyone redundant are going to cause a massive skills shortages as everyone re-trains and finds work elsewhere. And thats providing they havent killed themselves yet over it. Then the next set of potential engineers see what a load of bullshit the last 3 years has been and dont train for it, the people that do go for it are told to use AI, furthering the skill decline as they don't actually end up learning what the AI is doing. We're already at a point where learning new skills is massively declining because the AI can do the simple things very well so nobody is actually getting an opportunity to use their brain to develop skills because it really is just too easy to prompt for the basics. Its like maths with wolfram alpha. It's a great tool but every engineering course suffered massively because nobody bothered to learn their quadratics, now extend that to all learning and you have where we're at and currently heading.
>but we can just stop it
Its impossible at this point because every country is in an AI arms race and the winner of it is going to mash virtually every country into paste, or they become retards that dont think and die off. AI is a true civilisational calamity. People warned that the calculator would stop people using their brains and it did so we forced their non-usage up to a certain point in schools so that people developed a baseline of logical thought. Try doing that when every nigger in the country tells you to chatgpt the answers for everything (like we did with "googling it").
>>
>>545140016
Influencer. Make videos about cool programming projects.
>>
>>545145915
Yeah, it's so fucked dude. They're just going to keep throwing AI at the problem.
>"Can you rewrite this so it's scalable?"
>"Can you analyze this to explain the business logic at play here?
>Okay, we need the exact same inputs/outputs for every single function, but we need it in node.js... wait, python... no we're going to rust now, since only AI will ever look at it
>Please define test criteria
>Now write tests for it
>Now write functions that pass those tests
>Now please make it all work together
>How do we deploy this?
It's just never going to end. At some point, why even bother writing in frameworks, which only made coding easier for humans? Why not just write it all custom at the lowest level possible?

I imagine the follow up for programming is one universal language wrapper over all current languages that can you can choose to be compiled, run like a script or operate like bytecode. Then its a case of only ever teaching that language going forward and creating proper diagram tools that can show you the design in blocks which shows all memory interactions in real time. Then programming becomes:
>computer, make me XYZ
>computer makes XYZ
>programmer examines block diagrams of XYZ, can playback, rewind etc etc to see the interactions
>programmer notices bottlenecking at X
>programmer slows down the process and zooms in to look exactly what is going in and out
>programmer can then examine the code or direct the bot to the problem area by selecting the components
Basically scratch but a very advanced version that doesn't have dogshit performance

>>545147797
People confuse quick with smart. LLMs can very quickly create something that is approximately what you want and most of the time an approximation is fine. But for anything that requires precision, the approximation trade off isn't acceptable. Its the equivalent of speaking in generalisations, its correct but doesnt capture any nuance.

Pretty much. Sounds like their problem is obviously the jeets themselves who probably just prompt everything without ever bothering to care about the underlying reasoning they're asking the ai to program. Then it becomes exponentially worse because none of the jeets are communicating with each other (honestly) they're just siloed to themselves prompting shit and then calling it done.
