I worked as a security officer at one of the biggest work programs in southeastern Louisiana where the "good ending" these guys get go. It's just jail, but we also slave them out to local jobs like car washes and burger king and such and then the state takes like 90% of their money. It's just slavery. There was a car wash employed by all of these guys, and they would run bait cars with loose change or electronics in the car ... They would tell the inmates the morning of that there will be a bait car that day... And still, someone would steal and get caught. Every. Fucking. Time.
