I dont know who needs to hear this, but for an average adult 100 pounds of salt per adult is a good number to have in stockpile to last 10 years. For 3 adults, 300 pounds. 500 would be better, you can extrapolate those numbers yourself. The 300 number covers things like pickling, storing, jaring, canning, curing etc. The 500 number covers mistakes that could happen and experimenting with different things over that 10 year period.
