It's weird how once all of the "decentralized" crypto currencies got centralized into a small handful of exchanges the hacking and robberies increased exponentially.
>>
>>545167555
What's with this Bitcoin crap anyways? It's nothing real. Literally just 0s and 1s. What exactly are these fags even "mining"? It's just wasting resources on stupid shit. Even more retarded than paper money.

No, it accounts for 1/5th of the total crypto value, like 0.21%, and almost half of that was frozen, leaving only like 0.13% of the overall crypto market impacted.
So a nothing-burger. Though that's still over 2 billion dollars missing, which when wielded right, has astronomical power.

Decentralization of crypto is a method to blame the users for the hacks. Crypto is not secure.

It's trying to be decentralized money and it's very clever.
To understand mining you need to understand hashing. If you copy the next greentext

>The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs.

And take it to an md5 hash generator you'll get the hash "5c9f966da28ab24ca7796006a6259494" It's a one way calculation that always gives the same answer.
Mining means taking a transaction block (all the wallet transfer information for a period of time and finding a string of binary to add to it to get a a hash that begins with a certain number of zero characters '0'.
Sticking with our example sentence if you add a 1 to the end (no space). You'll get a hash that starts with a single 0. You could keep looking for a string that gives 2 or 3 zeros if you're bored.
This does something important. It lets everyone quickly verify your math and requires you spend a bunch of computer time and energy to find it. That's what protects bitcoin's ledger. The way crypto works anyone can say this is the ledger, but if your ledger doesn't agree with mine, the collective group that mines effectively votes on which ledger is correct. Making the math problem take an enormous amount of effort means there's lots of people who will have some interest in having accurate transaction data (because their ownership and ability to spend the thing they got for all this effort), so they collectively validate it constantly.
>>
>>545168366
>Crypto is not secure.
Crypto is as secure as you want it to be. Retard speculators wanted to treat it like every other compromised currency or sketchy securities so they're getting fleeced just like the owners of speculative bullshit. A safe isn't insecure just because the owners never close the door because it's more convenient to access the contents when you never lock it.
>>
>>545167555

it wont be long before those get hacked too. likely they are already hached and hackers are waiting for certain amount to be sitting on the server before it's cleaned out. both of those sites are literally made by jeets

it's is just a private 2fa key and a unix timestamp hashed and whatever to create the number. nobody needs to use any phone app, you can generate them off line using powershell, js, or python offline. (maybe avoid powershell since it stores command history if you dont clear it)

>>545167904
Young people are priced out of owning property but they know inflation eating savings will make them poor. So they must invest in something. This is part of why the stock market is grossly overvalued at 245% of gdp, a valuation higher than prior to the 1929 depression, and will come crashing down. And it is why some, the dumbest young people, invest in literal nothing hoping it will "go up" without even being able to present a coherent argument of what it is or why it should go up, such as bitcoin. All of this nonsense is a result of kids being priced out of the only real property (land)
