Should countries prioritize domestic industries even if doing so raises prices for consumers?
>>
depends what you mean by prioritize

Anon we would gladly work for minimum wage if we just had free healthcare
>but you're goyim only we get free healthca-
and could enact TND starting tomorrow morning
>oy vey you goyim better not harm my precious negros
hope this helps
>>

Good question.

No. It's just welfare with extra steps and guaranteed poverty.
>>
Let me see, domestic production with higher prices, but wages as well... provided no mass migration as it is a security issue.

Vs.

Being reliant on other Superpowers who will eventually enslave you, dismantling your ass from within.

Profit? What is profit, digits?

What happens when you have so many digits but China won't sell you rare minerals and you don't have enough for your defense? Did you profit!

Also, FUCK U and DIE now.
And, above all, thank you for everything.
>>
Even if you argue in favor of welfare, the thing about welfare only works if a majority helps a minority.

If everyone is on welfare, no one is. Let that sink in.
>>
also, what do you mean by """domestic industries"""
>>
Not you OP... but I mean generally...

Capable brains for one! Making those, domestically.

In the case of your country having a negative trade balance, yes. When you outsource, the money and capital is just shifted around. To who is the question:
- consumers get somewhat cheaper product...
- but consumers lose work and bargaining power vs capital
- importers get rich
- foreign influence gets your currency

none of that matters as long as you have a centuralu banku des in your country
if you don't issue your own money your policies are irrelevant

It's my experience that people who wont define their terms are asking you to make evaluations without all the data.

It's a strange question to ask desu. The first question to ask is: What domestic industries can we do well, fairly easily? And then you ask, have we done any of these?
If you try to start a domestic industry in something you are ill-equipped for then it will be much more difficult than taking the easier routes available. That said, sometimes you need to start something new and undiscovered for the people/region. But that's not really the case for Canada, we have a lot of low-hanging fruit to get first. Most 'first world' countries are the same.

This is the entire point of tariffs, to give local businesses an unfair advantage over foreign goods within our own domestic market. In the long term it ensures a basic level of self sufficiency should trade from any source be cut off and allows us to pivot and crank up production locally instead of starting from scratch.

As a bonus any revenue generated from tariffs can be subtracted from the amount required from other tax sources. So you shouldn't look at it as a simple increase in prices as it can easily be balanced out.
>>
>>545185801
it only lowers prices for consumers.
the entire concept of outsourcing is to raise profit margins by charging more and using "logistics" as a scapegoat.

you don't think good.
you can't have free healthcare without first addressing agriculture, education, and energy.

A good thought experiment is to put nationalism aside for a second. Purely economically speaking: Take one state or province, and make it so any product going in is so expensive, they are forced to produce everything in house. You'd just be condemning them to poverty.

BUT the bigger the country, the bigger the logic converges to global free trade. A big country like China, could get away with tariffs because it's such a big vertical economy they almost resemble a full world economy. But even they require imports. No single country builds everything in-house yet.

But smaller countries are more like the small province example. It's guaranteed poverty. The smaller the economy, the stupider you are to think tariffs help.

>A good thought experiment is to put nationalism aside for a second
waste of time
the entire political outcome of your country is based on the national landscape of it
any political system will work and very efficiently at that with a country that is 100% white without kikes
communism, capitalism, socialism
everything will work flawlessly
make it 50% white with kikes and niggers and no matter what political policies you choose it will fail

I don't really have a problem with global trade. Domestic production is important for various reasons, such as self-esteem, community etc. I would be happy if we just had an earnest focus on quality domestic media/art production for example. That alone, paired with better enforcement of the law, could revitalize the cities greatly in ~20 years.
Unfortunately, everyone wants to pretend to be great rather than suffering even the slightest moment of self-reflection, comparison, etc.
But I'll give a more 'industry' like answer: Canada had a decent domestic e-cigarette industry that was killed by domestic regulation largely pushed by disposable vape lobbying. The old form akshually brought people together, they learned about electricity, etc. etc. Disposables, on the other hand, are disposable. Also, the flavor is much worse. Anyway, nothing is all or nothing so there's no need to take it that way.

Not countries, as jew rat infection target, tax enclosures, but nations and national interest!

1) Kill all jews. Not deport, not fire from mass media and public office, but hang in a public place.
2) irradiate all porn and movies created by jews
3) promote family and moral life style. Make GF / BF illegal end it or marriage
4) restore peoples congress as highest decision making institution (with gallows in it)

No more "should" of any kind, It is not up to jew rat, but up to popular peoples congress.

Kill all jews where ever you detect them. If you can't kill, make sure, that every one around knows , that that person is a jew.

You see, jew rats always consider their own national rodent tribe interest and host nation call a country, where every kind of goyim welcome.

Yeah, but that's why you want to think about systems. A good system is designed to have proper failure modes, aka brown flood.

Take Sweden. One worrying thing about Sweden is that if you change the demographics they're royally fucked. It works now because it's all high trust people. I'm not trying to be antisemitic ot anything, I don't know who is bringing them in. But I'm just saying that they don't seem to have a good failure mode in place when it's inevitable flooded with browns.

So the vape industry was killed by regulations. And vape is a somewhat specialized product. Countries that do well find specialized products to build. Tariffs ensure you peak at textiles. Latin America is a perfect example.
Imagine a small island that has a semiconductor fab, that could be their entire economy. A pure specialized industry. No need tp build everything in house. I'll brake a lance for commies and agree that investing in formal education is important.. But not when it's brainwashing woke shit.

nice pepe
Isn't tech rather cheap in China due to the sheer production? Why would strong domestic industries here mean higher prices?
>>
>>545185873
For example, a country might put taxes on imported cars to help its own carmakers compete. That could protect local jobs, but consumers might pay higher prices.
>>
>>545186937
Yes formal education is 'hard' right now because we (global academia) has so many falsehoods baked into the record. I'm not sure if it's cleanable desu. It essentially just acts as a new Priesthood now, the scientific method is not really present in much of it.
