another german car manufactured by akmets in germany fails because no one wants their overpriced electric cuckmobiles
>>
>>545190202
Yeah sure the combustion engine ban is killing Germany's car industry. Surely that's why China is buidling electric cars. LMAO
>>
>>545190202
Audis haven't been made in Germany is quite some time. Their CEO (as opposed to the VW Group head honcho) said a few years back he saw no scenario in which Audi would ever produce anything in Germany ever again.

But they should fuck off honestly. As China has shown an electric car should be dirt cheap. Somehow the Germans decided they should instead be three times the price of their ICE versions. With hilarious consequences.
>>

Gee, it's a Mystery.

China was heavily involved in pushing all the Green Deal shit. They couldn't have competed with us on ICEs, but they definitely can compete with us on EVs. Because we do not have any head start there, and we don't have the resources to produce them either, we need to buy those from China.
German car manufacturers killed themselves with their own greed. All they saw were the profits they can hypothetically make if a whole continent is forced to replace their cars, and they never stopped to question why they believe it will be their cars that are being bought.

What was 2010 again, the Greek debt crisis? Either way, they really just started chaining the "crises" one after the other around that time so they'd always have an excuse to dial up their greed even more, with regards to basically everything.
At this point, they wouldn't even know how to run the nations and businesses anymore if not for some artificial crisis they can use as an excuse for all the shit they do.
You can easily tell they are artificial too because none of them ever get resolved, yet they are simply dropped a couple years later anyway.

I know there’s better cars, but my first car was a 2006 audi A4. That was a great car as a college kid. Unfortunately I delivered food on the weekends and drove to classes through NYC roads so that thing was constantly in need of repairs, I think I've changed a tire like 10 times (it came with a full 5th spare with rim which I always do now because fuck dealing with spares or donuts that you have to go to a shop for in the immediate future).

I don't even really follow cars anymore. I'm on lexus/Toyota forever now, but it killed me a little inside when I heard they got rid of the A4 line

>China was heavily involved in pushing all the Green Deal shit.
nope. they just made what the market wanted
the politicians were pushing all the green deal shit as an excuse to tax the shit out of the proles
china just called their bluff :)

>They couldn't have competed with us on ICEs,
well, they could, but it would've taken a couple extra decades

>but they definitely can compete with us on EVs
well, "competition" implies that you're in the game. you aren't
only tesla and the koreans are competition

>Because we do not have any head start there, and we don't have the resources to produce them either, we need to buy those from China.
technically, europe absolutely has the resources and capability
but china has a, what, like 3 decade head start? they've been making batteries for various electronics since forever
also much less in the way of environmental protection, tho that is ofc a bad thing, but it certainly keeps costs down

the real problem is that a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, the decision was made to allow western corps to outsource all their manufacturing, especially the dirty parts, to the 3rd world, china ofc being a main beneficiary.
this was done to increase profits, and it worked brilliantly. stuff made in the 3rd world at 3rd world costs being sold to the 1st world for 1st world prices. yuuuuge profits

except ofc after a few decades of that, china realized they dont need the western corpos anymore, they can just make all the stuff themselves. they have the know how, they have the factories and the supply chains and everything.
and now they're cutting the western corpos out of china, and competing with them in their home markets
>>
>>545190202
The problem is that German automotive started promoting native men by height circa 2010. HR wants them to look intimidating and in control in meetings. It doesn't matter whether they talk complete bullshit, as long as they pull a straight face.

You could part blame the cost of manufacture, of energy, of business, etc... but I'd bet the real reason is simply that these car companies still want to be the luxury car brands of the 90s as if the cost of living and economic rot hasn't companies obliterated their potential customer base.

>>545191153
>the politicians were pushing all the green deal shit as an excuse to tax the shit out of the proles
>china just called their bluff :)
you're delusional mate. china aggressively lobbied for all the renewable energy and green deal shit, specifically because they knew it would massively benefit them by moving technology to an area where they can compete on even ground with the other nations.
it was the smart move from their side, and it was an incredibly retarded one from our side to agree to it

A Chinese poster summed it up well here a while ago, when the Chinese consumer is buying a German car they're expecting it to actually be made by detail orientated, fastidious German autists. The *who* of it's creation is a factor too besides the costs of making it.

The Europeans did away with all this, but wanted to keep charging ripoff prices because these companies absolutely *want* customers to think that's still happening when this absolutely isn't whose making the cars anymore. The Chinese merely asked "so why pay these prices?".
Doesn't help either the likes of BMW want to tout "made in Germany" when they were sneakily importing raw battery cells from China via Hungary.

Batteries and electric motors are extremely simple design wise, basically unchanged from 100 years ago, as oppossed to ICE which is inherently reciprocating and has been refined relentlessly from the moment of its invention. Chinks can't simply close that gap and compete with the italians, germans , japs and frogs. Wake me up once chinks are able to build a mass production road legal 10k rpm twin turbo engine like lamborghini does in their latest Temerario. That engine can withstand 11k rpms , probably reserved for more limited series versions

>AfD cunt
Worthless traitor to Europe, I hope she gets shot as soon as possible.

The reason Audi and other German car companies are struggling is because they refused to move with the times and technology and remained fixated on obsolete ICE vehicles. An ICE car is the same as a horse & buggy at the time when Ford's Model T hit the scene - thoroughly obsolete. The blame for this rests solely on the shoulders of the management and directors of Audi, VW and so forth. China has decisively won the automotive race by going all in on modern tech. The German car industry refused to modernize.

the vast majority of europe does, except places like norway where ice is effectively banned (its not actually banned, just taxed to oblivion, which is the same thing)

for an EV to make sense for you, you need to be able to charge at home. this isn't just a cost thing, tho that is definitely a factor, its mostly a convenience thing.
a 20-30min charging stop in the middle of a trip, after you've already driven for 3-4 hours, is not a problem.
you were gonna stop anyway for coffee/bathroom/lunch/stretching your legs/etc. at worst, having an EV adds another 10 mins to that stop.
hardly the end of the world, especially considering most people only do long road trips a couple times a year.

but if you can't charge at home, that 20-30min charging stop is a weekly thing. or twice, or thrice weekly, depending on commute length etc.
so its after work, you wanna go home to cook/relax/see your wife/kids/whatever, but no, you have to go out of your way to a charger, hope there's no line (every person in front of you = +20-30mins of wait), charge, and then go home
which is obviously a huge deal breaker for everyone

and guess who can't charge at home? why, everyone who lives in apartment buildings.
and europe is pretty big on apartment living, especially in cities. we do have suburbs like the americans, but its much rarer.

so, yea, the german industry dying is not about EVs. they've lost that fight too, but that's not what's killing them in europe
instead its hybrids:
-toyota hybrids that have a (deserved) reputation for indestructability, unlike german ones that by now everyone knows are disposable leasemobiles
-and ofc, chinese hybrids, which everyone assumes are disposable just like the german shit, but at least they're WAY cheaper and WAY better equipped. just tons more car for the money. and they have long warranties too.

It's not that they WANT to, it's that the only value their brand has left is the dying perception that they still are a luxury brand that some boomers hold. Kek I didn’t say I’d ride one, just that it would be a cooler product than the cars they try to pump out and they could at least make it look much more appealing to the danger seeking insanefags because it actually would at least look cool.
>>
>>545198611
lmao, thanks for the admission that it's a colossal waste of money when only rich people can afford your cucky boomermobile. I accept your concession
>>
>>545198785
Motorcycles are so fucking fun, as long as you don’t drink and ride you are pretty safe. It’s like 80-90% of motorcycle deaths have alcohol involved

>meanwhile Dacia is the best seller two years in a row.
the slav gets it. Many people want a simple, affordable car but because our big companies are divorced from reality thanks to government handouts and years of cheap financing they don't sell those anymore. It's all about price, people are debt saturated and can't take our $50k loan for a regular vehicle anymore
>>

What alarmed the guy 2 seconds before the explosion? Did he realize he fucked something up?
>>
>>545198920
All those drunkies would still be alive if they had used a car while drinking. It's not the alcohol, it's the mode of transportation they chose. But i'm not complaining. At least theres less chance of killing someone else on a motorcycle
>>
>>545199101
As we all know, drunk drivers never get hurt in a car and never hurt anyone else with a car.

Just another seething poor euro. God it’s sad.
>>
>>545190325
The chinese are also building combustion engines. Even high end V12 stuff.

Audi is making 4k € on selling a 90k € Q7. Out of the 90k € more than 10k € are CO2 fines, which they have to pay to the EU. Which they do not have to pay if they build their cars in the US. Which they are planing to do.

I drive an A6 C6 from 2010
Thats a good car, luxurious and beautiful as well.
And not expensive to maintain in europe imo
>>
>>545190325
Yes, that's exactly why they build EVs, because they know they can sell them in countries that ban combustion engines.
>>
>>545190202
I don't think people can afford cars anymore. Cars are gonna become a thing of the past because gas is too expensive. The car itself is also too expensive and they make you pay insurance which is too expensive, and do maintenance which is too expensive. So really having a car is only for rich people who make half a billion dollars a year.
>>
>>545198411
Pretty much THIS. It's all about THIS. having the possibility to go 1000 kms with a full tank is unacceptable to the elites pushing 15 min cities. That's the real incentive behind electric cars shilling
>>
>>545201381
If that's the case, they should try the carrot instead of the stick. Give me cash rewards for NEETing at home and never going anywhere.
>>
>>545191459
Toyota invested heavily in hybrids, which make sense as they're economical and you don't have to worry about range, but our government shat on them and lumped hybrids in with the ICE ban. Fucking worthless cretins, the lot of them.

China will dominate the EV market and there is nothing you can do about that. Your best hope is appeal to the ICE market.
You must be one of those retarded slavic rape baby "germans" because you are fucking stupid.
>>
>>545190325
Germany collapses because of retards like you. Holy fuck neck yourself asap.
>>
Have they considered lowering their prices? Maybe through a more comprehensive state ownership plan that turns Audi from a profit-making enterprise into one which provides goods for the German people
>>
>>545191457
inflation metrics are based on arbitrary baskets of goods determined by the (((central bank))) and the contents within in the basket are subject to change at each inflation reading so yes inflation is a shit metric you stupid halfbreed anglo

They have a place in Portugal. At least for the next half of eternity. Certainly for the the rest of my life. I don't need to worry.
>>
>>545202093
It pains me as a BMW fan what they have done to their entire lineup, we went from beautiful kidney grills and sleek mid 2000s aero design to these fucking ugly pig nose things. All to appeal to the Chinese market who will happily throw them to the side to purchase from their own domestic industry, all while alienating western buyers.
I need to find a clean mid 2010s BMW with low miles before they are all gone, I will never purchase the pig nose bullshit. Shit like this is why these companies are failing.
>>
>>545190325
It's not the EV transition, and it's not the combustion engine ban.
Audi makes terribly ugly cars.
So does BMW.
The price for Audis is far too high for the quality they offer and the design being hideous doesn't help.
These artsy designerfags across the entire automotive industry have no idea what a beautiful car should look like, trying to insert their own ideas into the product instead.
That's where the absolutely disgusting pastel interiors are coming from in that Faguar and some new French cars. Someone decided it looks happy and interesting. I think it looks distracting and like it will get filthy far too quickly.
Just like how every car now has touchscreen dashboards. I don't want that, I want analogue dials and manual buttons and switches you can rely on.
Audi are upselling that substandard feature for a tonne too much money however.
No fucking wonder their profits tanked. Shit cars at shit prices.

Most people need the external stimuli a wage job grants. The commuting, the office coffee, the have-your-lunch-with-your-colleagues it's all they've ever known. So yes, they will buy the teslas to commute and go to the goymarket, though not for such a long distance. They want their goys in the coop
