>now being reported that many of the recent graded Pokemon sold at record-breaking prices on auction sites are fake cards
>fraud loss is already in the millions

Sorry kids. This is MAGA's America. No oversight, fraud rules all. The online e commerce sites have the resources to prevent these listings, they just choose not to because it costs money. You have to force them.

See Tiffany & Co. Vs. Ebay.

>everyone wants the real thing
hate to break it to you, but many collectors dont give a flying fuck if a card is real or fake, they just want cards and the fun and joy of opening and seeing and having cards.

>dragonite for 288k
Lol you deserve to lose a quarter mil if you think dragonite is cool.
fucking retarded timmys

The funny thing to me about all the retards crying about the AI bubble is that AI is actually making a trillion dollars a year in revenue, it's just that they're spending 1.5 trillion to make it.

The pokemon shit was always obviously fake, no one is going to pay 300k for a card. Even bitcoin, as silly as you might think it is, at least has legitimacy from the government and wall street. Pokemon cards were always obviously scams.

Normalfags can never be trusted, when ecelebs began promoting/pump and dumping crypto it opened the floodgates to grifting/scamming. When normalfags take sudden interest in hobbies assume it is always toward a speculative end, after all they all tell you why do anything when you don't make money off it?

These real

Good - anyone paying thousands of dollars for cardboard with cartoons on them, needs their head checked.
>>
>>545192580
It's cardboard. The first thing I thought of hearing about them being sold for stupid prices is wondering what industrial printer they were using to make them, as in get one and print money.
>>
>>545195207
Retards who think this is some sort of an investment, cause the line can only go up.
>>
>>545195355
Yeah they print billions so even the impossible chase cards are probably common at that scale
>>
>>545195207
Because millennials have money now and are retarded because 'muh nostalgia', but also typical bubble 'line go up' mentality. Same as Rolex, which has now come right down.
>>
>>545192580
This is working as intended, they don't check the cards for authenticity, they check them for condition. That fake card is in pristine condition, so it gets rated 10. If you wanted proof it was real you should have sent it to someone else to verify that separately.

I actually tried to get into playing the PokemonTCG game, specifically attending LGS events and tournaments. I got into PokemonTCG after getting fed-up with Magic the Gathering. All that being said, I do not understand the PokemonTCG scalping and arbitrage hobby, it is basically a different hobby from how I enjoy the game. I attended a few PokemonTCG tradeshows, and half of it are people trying to buy a card for $1 and sell it for $2, and the other half are people like "*this one* is my favourite Pokemon, I have an entire binder full of different *this one's*.

So in short, Pokemon is a very different TCG from Magic.

It’s just an American thing in general. Unless you think those Somalis soaking up millions for their non-existent schools are MAGA too.

Such is the case when jews hold power

Nobody is knowingly paying 6 figures for fake cards. If you’re okay with having a fake, you can get one for 1/10000th that price. People pay that much because they think they’re getting a real one.

Zoomers who think they're top tier businessmen because they buy and sell cardboard. Lol.

A mass produced easily manufactured commercial product is counterfeited?!
lol
At least for us who like old gaming, the Chinese have been counterfeiting the physical old NES and SNES games perfectly, they are pretty much "official" reproductions.
